My mother's ninetieth birthday is coming up and we have been racking our brains for a good gift. She has a serious fear of computers. We are not even allowed to use the "c word" around her, or she will shut down.

My sister came across this service (http://h71036.www7.hp.com/hho/cache/423535-0-0-225-121.html?jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN) from Hewlett Packard and it struck us that we could sell it as a phone thing and she could finally get more pictures of the little ones and family news. As it is now, I call her and read the emails to her. Does anyone know if this is a reliable item, or has anyone heard anything about it?

Thanks!

Interesting.

Just make damned sure that her (future?) e-mail address doesn't land in the hands of the spammers though.

Looks interesting, though at the moment it's US only.

From the Amazon page (http://www.amazon.com/Printing-Mailbox-use-Presto-Service/dp/B000JERC8A) about it: Presto Service only delivers messages from family and friends you have selected, so there’s no ads, no spam, no junk mail.
