View Full Version : A message to Franko

Franko, I urge you not to repeat the mistakes of the past. Prove to us that you can make amends for your previous actions, and you will find that the animosity on this board toward you will decrease substantially. Return to your old ways, and you will soon find yourself in the same position as Jedi Knight. I can only hope you will not attempt to start another fiasco on this board by bringing up your inconsistent and untenable excuse for a religion or a philosophy, which leads to nothing but an isolationist hatred for those who do not agree.

I would have taken the approach of assuming he'd be civil, instead of issuing a warning like some quasi-moderator. But that's just me...

To be fair, Franko didn't do anything close to approaching JK level of behavior.
My question is, why has Franko come back just now? Does anyone else find it odd that Jedi comes back, is banned, and then a few days later, here come Franko? The last thing JK does is start a thread about Franko and the first thing Franko does is ask what happened to JK?
I never believed the assertion that Franko and JK were the same person, but this is an incredible coincidence.

In reality there are no coincidences.
... only Fate and destiny.

...right.
So what did bring you back?

Yeah, but if you remember, when JK left the time before last, GP turned up the next day, and in the same week GP was finally banned, JK was back.
Er, and then gone.

My only real concern is that one of the historical results of Franko's presence is the hijacking of any interesting thread into a discussion of his philosophy. I hope the new moderation policies include sanctions for such actions.
Other than that, I'm glad he's back, as long as things don't get to where they were before.

-On Trolls and Trolling: In multiple conversations with Mr. Randi, Linda, Jeff, Hal, and Andrew, it was decided that trolls whose only purpose is to troll are counterproductive to a successful educational forum. It is the JREF’s desire that the forum exist as a venue for the sharing of ideas and concepts, not as caldron of incivility. We certainly recognize that the forum, in addition to being of educational value, it is also an online community that welcomes pure fun and entertainment as well. It is the stance of the JREF that trolling enhances neither. Therefore, trolling is not permitted. Trolling is a difficult concept to define, and therefore and only in the most egregious cases, will suspension or banning be considered as the sanction. Only forum administrators have the power to suspend or ban, and only after consultation with one another. It's up to the mods to decide if Franko's usual tactics apply or not. However, if they haven't come down on Ian or hammegk, who use the same tactics to a lesser degree, I really can't see them coming down on Franko.

I predict that some forum members will bait Franko in an attempt to get him banned. One of the subtle side effects of having clear rules that everyone is aware of.

Clear rules, yes, but still some what arbitrary. "At the administrator's discression" isn't very black and white. It's hard to name a specific action that would get Franko banned.
On the other hand, Hal has been putting the smack down on the monkey business lately. So, who knows?

Cool. I won't be one of the baiters, as I have had Franko on ignore for quite some time.

A fine welcome back-- There's nothing like a threat, albeit an empty one as you haven't the power to ban anyone, to insure that we start things off on the right foot.
I can only hope you will not attempt to start another fiasco on this board by bringing up your inconsistent and untenable excuse for a religion or a philosophy, which leads to nothing but an isolationist hatred for those who do not agree.
Though I've never claimed to agree with everything Franko's said in the past, and have disagreed with him on more than one occasion, he's never expressed any intense animosity or hostility toward me. I wonder why...

I'd say, based on the content of this thread's opening post, that this has already begun. And why not? It's a proven method. I wonder if it will work.

Just my first impression.

But I dared to disagree with him. Shouldn't that automatically lead him to "an isolationist hatred" of me? If c4ts, to whom I was speaking in the quote to which you responded, is correct, it should. But it didn't. So why would he like me when he should hate me? Gosh, I just can't figure this out.
Edited to say that I'll be out of pocket for a while. I think I made my point. Maybe not-- In any event, I'm outta here for a spell. Thanks for the responses.

My god, I'm honored to be likened to such company. ;)

Anyone have a link to some of the last threads Franko posted on? You know, the ones where he had his ass handed to him a few times, then just left (dematerialized).
I would enjoy reading that again, it was fun seeing the man who figured it all out (I guess goddess wanted him to be the very special graviton) struggle with something goddess should have determined for him already (but since he didn't understand it and other gravitons were "explaining" (goddess was really doing it) it to Franko-graviton I guess that is how goddess lusted it all to be. And of course she determined that we atheist hellspawn ripped from nothingness would be atheist hellspawn ripped from nothingness only to be put back into nothingness, its all determined and she is really communicating with all of you for me. But Franko gets suggestions (he thinks he gets suggestions, goddess is funny that way) and he actually thinks that he has a choice from those "suggestions". HAHA, goddess is having some fun with Franko! Ok, this is the goddess telling all of you to give LeFevre lots and lots of cash, and you are ALL determined to give him this cash so hurry up with it!!!).
Whaaaa? Was I automatic writing?
Anyway, links would be appreciated and we would save alot of time rehashing some crap.

I think that you not being an atheist hellspawn, even disagreeing with him on some or many things, could have effected his judgement of you just a wee bit.

A definite possibility, LeFevre-- I'm compelled, however, to point out that there have been self-proclaimed theists/deists on the board who didn't get on very well with him at all. Moreover, I can think of at least one self-proclaimed atheist who seemed to be able to engage him in wonderful discussions. So maybe there's more to it than the fact that I'm an a-atheist?
At any rate, I just wanted to toss in my two cents on Franko's behalf. It's been my personal experience, on the forum and in PMs, that he is more than willing to share his ideas and able to thoughtfully discuss points of view which differ from his.

Franko and I got along ok, seeing as how we were both determined to. . .
