My daughter has a friend at school who told her all about the FEMA concentration camps, and told her to watch this video:

So... have at it.

The narrator certainly has a strange idea of what would make a good watchtower...an old light stand with a UHF antenna mounted on it....and that rickety old ladder. You couldn't pay me enough to guard the sheeple from up there.

I wonder, if I go around to one of the local schools, or the local industrial park where I live on a Sunday morning, could I get such footage, and then post it on Youtube as "Canadian FEMA Death Camps"?

As well as threads here (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?p=3056124) and here (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=87662). It's a perennial, like most CTs (and weeds).
As for Beech Grove, a linky (http://www.trainweb.org/chris/beech.html) gleaned from one of DGM's posts in that second thread.
So, when we're all in the FEMA camps we're going to have to eat barreled fish? :wackyarghh:

I have seen the video before but never with the voiceover. It's amusing that the narrator talks about "supposed" renovations and then points them out.

She had not seen it yet. She was not surprised when I kept groaning as I watched it.
The friend is also certain... wait for it... that the gov't was behind 9/11. I don't think I have to worry about my daughter being too terribly influenced.

Wow. Look at the data on the video! 1/23/13. Not only is this a conspiracy... it's in the FUTURE!
What the hell is FEMA doing running a concentration camp? Seriously, if it were the CIA or the FBI or NSA or something I guess I could understand somewhat... but FEMA? What's next? The National Weather Service and the US Geological Survey running a concentration camp along with the Library of Congress and the Department of Agriculture?
How the hell is this a concentration camp? Looks like some old industrial area. Okay I see an airforce locomotive. Um maybe some context would help. What the hell is this a military contractor?
A location would help a lot too. "Indiana Grove camp" Where the hell is that? Indiana I presume? That's a big state.

Okay I found it. Beech Grove Indiana. You can find it on Google Earth. The facility in question is an Amtrak maintiance facility where they used to overhaul locomotives and passenger cars. It seems that the facility closed for regular maintenance around 2005. Still owned by Amtrak though and used for storage and such. Often these sort of industrial sites are maintained in a something of a semi-operational condition because if they closed and sold it off they'd have to deal with any enviornmental issues from cleanup.
Bunch of old train cars on the tracks there. A few locomotives. There is also a couple buildings. The largest is the maintiance building. It is about 300 feet by 600. It's got tracks going into it. looks like a warehouse.
The big lights are typical of a train yard. Used to keep vandles out and that sort of thing. It's not secluded. There are homes and businesses around it. Rather a lot of junk around. Seem to be a few newer cars though. Possibly maintenance but the parking lot looks closed.
No prison yard. No people waiting. No apparent barracks. Nothing suspicious. There's a barbed wire fence around it, but no real containment beyond that. A real lot of old railraod cars and a few locomotives tool. But nothing aside from that where you could potentially contain people. And as mentioned, it's not secluded. There's a major road going right by it. Easy to see into the facility.

The only relation I can find to the government is that apparently at some point some of the train cars there may have been used by some SWAT teams or something as a training area for an assault on a passenger train exercise.

This is the funniest thing I have ever seen!! I live just down the road from this facility. If you are curious go to Mapquest and search for the intersection of Emerson Ave. and Garstang in Beech Grove, IN 46107. When the map comes up click on the aerial view to see the train yards."

The Beech Grove, Indiana Amtrak station is a repair and "dead storage" (i.e. obsolete, no longer in use... a "boneyard" for equipment) facility. Another set of less sinister pictures can be found here:
http://discuss.amtraktrains.com/lofiversion/index.php/t17066.html (http://discuss.amtraktrains.com/lofiversion/index.php/t17066.html)
Jesus H, man! Not only is that an active train repair and storage facility, it's one block away from a residential area! Just go to Google Earth or some other mapping and aerial photography app and see this for yourselves. Somone please explain to me why they'd put a concentration camp one block away from a medium density residential area and how they'd keep it's purpose a secret in such an open, populated area?
It was old and stupid when we dealt with this myth back in July. It's even older and dumber now.

Koala bears are marsupials: "The koala's closest relative is the wombat." From www.savethekoala.com (http://www.savethekoala.com). I'm concerned that there may be a conspiracy behind this.

i know koalas are marsupials, but i figured they would fit the bill as both "drop bear" (if in name only) and "drop marsupial"
and since it seems drop bears are in fact koalas (and therefore also "drop marsupials") the whole situation is wrapped up quite nicely

This is what I thought: that "trained attack drop bears" referred to parachuting bears which would land behind enemy lines and wreak havoc. I really, really did think that. I didn't think they were real, but I thought... Oh, never mind. See first paragraph.

Okay well apparently I was wrong that the facility was closed. It was supposed to be closed in 2003 and again in 2005, but local politicians and the union and other interests managed to get it to stay open. Actually it was closed briefly but there have been a few major upgrades in recent years. These seem to have been a political thing in part to keep Amtrak from moving out. I guess the politicians felt that Amtrak would not leave if the place had some new shiney stuff.
Anyway I actually just made a blog entry which has a bunch more info and links on this whole damn thign:

Of all the hyper efficient government organizations that one would expect to be able to successfully implement concentrations camps... FEMA? Really?
Unless that whole Katrina thing was just a way to fool people into believing FEMA was incredibly inept, I'm having a bit of trouble wrapping my head around why anyone would expect FEMA to be running ANYthing. Though I suppose if somebody is gonna run death camps in the US, I'd prefer it to be someone like FEMA... I figure they're more likely to kill themselves off than actually manage civilian genocide. Or maybe an American setting for "Hogan's Heroes."

Not only that, but barbed wire only works one way; therefore, you can tell by looking at the arrangement of barbed wire on a fence that it was specifically constructed to keep people from getting over the fence in this direction, but NOT in that direction.
