Just when you thought there would be nothing to celebrate today: The Time Master reaches into his (assuming Father Time, ergo, "his") black bag and presents a moment in the space-time continuum that will never come this way again (and damned well had better not):
1 Year
1 Month
1 Week
1 Day
until DoofieCorps MUST leave that wondrous swampland known as Washington DC and give the next guy or girl a chance!!!
Mwahahahahahahaha!
YAY!!!:bananalama:

There's still time to nail the 1 hour, 1 minute, 1 second post! Roughly 5 hours from now.

Or IQ
You're saying I have an IQ of 1111?
THANK YOU!
Oh wait - you're a right winger, indicating your IQ is under 64. Please disregard my thanks.
Don't you have me on Ignore? Right winger, let me explain something to you. When you have a person here on Ignore, then you're supposed to "ignore" all that person's posts and threads. You're not supposed to drop everything in your life and dash in here to see what I've written! Sheez! I mean, I'm flattered and all, but a little consistency, eh?
So how's your boy Doofie (aka Bush the Lesser) doing, in your opinion, trying to wriggle out of violating international law by torturing people? Has he fooled you yet?

Well, he does remain un-re-defeated....

Who or what is a DoffieCorps?
I was wondering the same thing. I thought maybe a "Doffie" was some sort of American confectionery, and perhaps "DoffieCorp" was the company that produced it.

Check yer spellin'. It's DoofieCorps, NOT DoffieCorps! Sheez!
Side note: If you listen to any of the press conferences given by "president" Bush and do NOT conclude that he should be forced to legally change his first name to "Doofie", please list the reasons for your resistance here. And don't forget: Childrens is learning!

Well! It's Mr. "There's no such thing as PTSD" checking in!!! Oh, Gumboot, if you had a Doofie Leader such as "president" Bush running things over there in the rarified air of New Zealand? You'd have to change the name of your COUNTRY to make folks fergit the stench in the ensuing years...

I'm writing a Firefox plugin that will display the days until Ron Paul is elected President.

Well, there's your problem. Anyone who actually listens to a politician's press conference is clearly asking for trouble.

I'm all for thinking the president is dumb, (well actually I think there's a good chance he's just a person of average to slightly-above-average intelligence but who has various "flaws" that lead to him having terrible public speaking skills and supporting unsound governmental policies, but close enough) but the word "doofie" is a terrible disgusting immature word.
It's just an ugly word. For one, it looks like it's a diminutive of doofus, and that's dumb in it's own right. ("He's not just a doofus, he's our lil' doofie!") Furthermore, there's something rather unpleasant to my ears about insults that use the word "oof" since it has the phonetic effect of a person falling backwards into a giant pile of dog poo. Goofy to the point of being insulting to the person saying the word as well as the target of the insult. (Of course, JREF people might disagree with this last point because the word "Troofer" is of relative popularity here.)
Also, it's a rather blatant bit of political rhetoric lacking even the slightest bit of subtlety. As I've already said, doofie is a word which yells with every essence of its being BUSH IS DUMB, LOLOLOL. And when you go to the level of DoofieCorps, you're taking it to a whole new layer of absurdity, by using CamelCaps to convey a sort of corporate edge. This adds even more nonsense to the pile, especially because there is a certain rhetorical conflict between saying LOL BUSH IS DUMB LOL and BUSHITLER CORPORATE ****************. That is, of course it's possible that Bush can be both stupid and evil, but they convey very different feelings, and when you pile the two emotions on top of each other the effect can be jarring.
In conclusion, nobody should use the word doofie ever.

Our Government is currently trying to pass a law that's more undemocratic than anything the Republicans ever tried to pass. Despite a distaste for our current government that I have no doubt is every bit as strong as your distaste of your government, I prefer to highlight the government's failings rather than resorting to name calling or gender/sexuality flaws. That's because I'm a mature adult who actually takes poor government leadership seriously.
Calling a political leader stupid names because you don't like them is childish and immature, and worse yet undermines the validity of your grievences. Personally I prefer to leave that sort of embarrassing behaviour to kindergartens and parliament.

In New Zealand we have a gourmet burger chain that provide cardboard devices to aid you in eating their products. It's called a "doofer". Is that okay?

More than OK, they are an essential part of the Burger Fuel experience (they have opened a store in Sydney).
What is the undemocratic law that you referred to?

The Electoral Finance Bill. It in itself is alarming, but in conjunction with the passage of law that allows Government Departments to spend as much money as they want to promote controversial policies during election time without that amount being included in the ruling party's election spending (a practice which was deemed illegal during the 2005 election controversies), it amounts to an effort by the current New Zealand government to control the outcome of future elections.
