This raises and interesting question since North America has been seperate from Europe for so long (geologically, I'm not talking glacial periods) and a friend of mine back in college had a very large cat he said was half Bobcat. I wonder if the study found whether smaller New World cats can breed with Old World small cats and how long ago the LCA was.
