A glimpse into National Socialism

Rarely do those of us who are interested in history have the opportunity to read and hear the actual words of political leaders of the past. Even rarer do we read the words from the National Socialist period in Germany. I found a few articles and speeches at this link.

Wow. A post from MaGZ giving me "a glimpse into National Socialism" . . .

What are the odds?

Sorry, MaGZ, but the German Nazis were prolific in recording their outpourings. They pioneered film and broadcast propaganda - have you ever seen "Triumph des Willens"? Interestingly, they pioneered many new technologies and technology companies in doing so. And these recordings have been around and open for public record for decades. It's not like they hid their light under a bushel. ;)

Then the Americans were equally prolific in recording all sorts of stuff during WW2 (e.g. there were at least two colour-film movie cameras on board every bomber over Europe at any one time). And they had hundreds of "embedded" reporters throughout the military and political arenas. So there are hundreds of cubic acres of records of all this sort of stuff just from the Yanks alone.

So your opening premise is WAY wrong.

I guess while it might be interesting to read the words written by murderous, racist monsters who traded in their humanity in exchange for a few years of feeling better about themselves, it doesn't actually change the fact that they were murderous, racist monsters who traded in their humanity in exchange for a few years of feeling better about themselves.

Well, I don't like them as a group but one-on-one some of them can be kind of cool.

The OP's statement is incorrect.

I can receive German public TV here. The Third Reich gets discussed a lot, and is usually illustrated with film footage, recordings from radio broadcasts, diary excerpts, eyewitness accounts, etc.

The Holocaust alone is so well documented you could build a mausoleum for every single 'historical revisionist' out off it.

And there are of cause libraries*, full of memoirs, histories, and what not.

* Libraries - Buildings with books** in it.
** Books - Bound piles of paper with text printed on them.

It is interesting that the author of that site talks about the material as follows Remember that this is propaganda! Its makers did not hesitate to stretch the truth or lie outright in pursuit of their persuasive goalsMaGZ; perhaps you could do us a favour and point some of these lies out to us here.

Obviously MaGZ did not bother to read the FAQ (http://www.calvin.edu/academic/cas/gpa/faq.htm) for this site ...he might have came across this lovely tidbit if he did:

Don't Neo-Nazis use your material?

Yes. I've been plagiarized by a number of them, in fact.

Every now and then I get an unhappy surfer who believes that putting this material on the web must mean I am sympathetic to it. I encourage such people to read my published works on the topic.
