So, there are sane alternatives to the "lock them up and throw away the key" crowd. Way to go Missouri

The title of the article is misleading. This is not something new, Missouri has been doing it since the early 1980's, let's hope other states and countries examine this system and adopt a model based on it.

It won't fly with the "law and order, tough on crime" morons... and it works, which means there's a whole bunch of people with a vested interest in the current systems who will be against it.

Yeah, I agree. It is the criminal justice INDUSTRY that blocks change. That's the problem with people making money, big money, off of social problems. They never want to improve the system. It is in their best interest to have the system steadily spiral downward.
