The world is still here and it is OK. And it will be continue to be OK for the forseeable future.

Still OK.

Evidence?
Your eyes and/or ears.

Your eyes and/or ears.

Our senses can deceive us.

Our senses can deceive us.
Anything at all can decieve us. OK, look at history.

Anyything at all can decieve us. OK, look at history.

So then why should i trust mt senses and feel free to believe that all in the foreseeable future is ok?

My point exactly.

Because it always has been.

What is your point, my friend?

Well seeing as no one can see more than a few minutes (with any sort of accuracy) into the future it is possible that the world will be a burnt out husk by diner.

And given that it has been here for over 4 billion years, I suspect it will continue to be here, no matter your philosophical outlook.

What is your point, my friend?

That, when we look at history - as an example - we learn that what we think we know, because our senses can - and will - deceive us, will not show us reality.

So, how did you come to your conclusion?

Everything is still OK. Phew!

And given that it has been here for over 4 billion years, I suspect it will continue to be here, no matter your philosophical outlook.

And yet, we can - and probably will - be exterminated by a meteor.

Or Paris Hilton.

By simple observation. Apparently I've observed other things than you have.
And yet, we can - and probably will - be exterminated by a meteor.

Or Paris Hilton.
Extremely unlikely. It's been 65 million years since something like that happened.

Once again, all is OK as it has been for millions of years. And will continue to be for millions of years. So why exactly is your puny political view of any relevance whatsoever?

Nope. The earth will be vaporized in the future. It's a scientific fact.:)

Nope. The earth will cease to exist sometime in the future. Odds are good that we won't see this.

That doesn't make it more real.

Exactly. Which is why we really should worry.

I fully expect humanity to destroy itself sometime in the future. Define the "world". Does that mean the small little rock called earth in English or just the denizens that inhabit it?
