This is all well known. I hope that once again America does not have to go across the world to stop this. Part of the Bush doctrine as emoted during his campaign is trying to get the local powers to do something. In this case we are talking Russia, China, Japan, and South Korea. I would like to give them more time to try to remedy the North Korea probem before it falls on the west yet again to save the day for the hopeless.

I only wish we had an 800 lb gorilla near Iraq besides Israel.

I suspect that this development (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/2757923.stm) may go a long way towards convincing the Chinese to help us crack down on North Korea.

China wants to be the regional hegemon, and does not want Japan re-arming.
