Looks like a floral pattern to me too. (http://www.netcurtainsdirect.com/index.php?page=voilecurtains&name=Melissa&PHPSESSID=442ed3d054483439a6e1d1eeb6ba70e0)

Maybe not floral, but a simple geometrical pattern; a 6 pointed star or a 6 petalled flower. We have 2 alternatives.

First, we recognize that due to Islam's prohibition on figurative art, an elaborate system of geometrical patterns has developed over 1,400 years to replace it.

Second, we decide that it's all a Jewish conspiracy anyhow.

Time for our resident anti-Semites (I prefer to use the term "Jewbaiters," because it's franker, but I suppose it's too frank) to make their appearance.

The 6-pointed start is not unique to Judaism. In the Arab world it is known as the Seal of Solomon and also appears on the flag of Morocco.

Just dropping the kids off at the pool again, geggy? Shouldn't you be more concerned with how devil faces and "911" appeared in the smoke from the towers?

The Muslims revere Abraham, David and Solomon. They see themselves as heirs to the same religious tradition. What's the big deal.

No more surprising than a swastica of a pre-Columbian pot in Arizona.

Considering the cocaine/tobacco mummies of Egypt, was the swastika's appearance in so many cultures part of some diffusion of culture in the ancient world or a symbol arrived at independently cross culturally?

I know there are specimens in museum collections which show nicotine and cocaine. Have they been found in mummies sampled in situ as recovered?

Lots of ways those could have been introduced by accident prior to about 1930, for cocaine, late 40s for nicotine.

You might notice that modern-day Egyptians smoke an awful lot.

Dammit, I thought it was a Monty Python reference, but I was wrong. However, I feel that the following needs posting anyway, so deal with it :):

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
-- Monty Python, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"

No, that thing in his forehead is a caste sign under some poorly covering make-up. It's all an international conspiracy of bankers and Hindus.

It looks like an old skull fracture. Kicked in the head by a horse, perhaps. Or somebody threw a rock at him.
