View Full Version : Some keyboard problems

I have a Mac, and suddenly my keyboard is starting to have a mind of its own: now the 'a' is 'q', the 'm' is now the comma, the '2' is now the 'é' and so forth...

You can imagine how painstaking and irritating just writing this OP must have been. Anyone can guess what the heck is wrong?

Thanks for any help.

The computer illiterate guy who is about to use his keyboard as a karate board.

I think you've worn it out.

Is it possible the language setting of the keyboard has been changed?

The "2" becoming "é" makes it sound as though the keyboard setting has been changed to French standard - on those keyboards for some bizarre reason you have to hit Shift plus the key to get a number to show. Me, I use a Swiss keyboard - much simpler and I have umlaut as well.

That was it, I had to change back the keyboard language in the preference settings.

Thanks guys. I must have changed it without knowing.
