Every time I turn on the computer and bring up IE, it goes to about:blank! I try going to internet options and changing it back to google, but that only works until I turn the computer off. Why is it doing this?

Sounds like a piece of spyware gone awry. Go here (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and download Spybot Search and Destroy. This porgram shoudl help you get rid of most any piece of malicious code that has snuck onto your system.

Change the default address to your liking. Click start, click run, enter 'msconfig' and click ok, click the 'start' tab. This displays a list of programs that start up each time you boot windows. Find the entry(ies) that start up the program and uncheck the box next to it. If you cant tell which entry to uncheck, you can uncheck them all, restart windows. If the ie default address is not replaced then you can go back into msconfig, check one entry at a time, restart windows until the program changes your default address again, then you will know which entry starts that program. All of the checked entries in the start group can be unchecked, as these are programs not installed by the OS, but by third party software.
