M-Theory, Branes, and Parallel Universes

If I recall according to a study that scientists from the UK, they floated a theory that there were infinite parallel universes, something to do with collapsing wave functions and infinite variations.

Is this compatible with M-theory, or string-theories that have all the membranes and stuff? Any of them? All of 'em?

Well, Dr Kaku (http://www.mkaku.org/) certainly agrees that parallel universes are possible - perhaps even likely. Kaku is also a proponent of M-Theory, so there must be some connection.
