I ran across this blog article a while back, but forgot to post it here. I didn't come across another post in any of my searches of the forum so I'm guessing this is going to be relatively new to everyone.

It's a wonderful look from a different vantage point of religious art. I especially like one of the descriptive sentences:

“As a method of representation satellite photography is so trusted, it has been interesting to mess with that trust.”

What's also interesting (and somewhat puzzling) is some of the comments on the article. One gets the impression at least one of these people think the images are real! I mean, I've run into some really whacky fundies, but some of the comments make me feel like blood is spurting out of my ears!

BTW, I am posting this in the "Arts" category as the blog is an article about an art group and their exhibit, not necessarily to comment/criticize/debate on religion. If any mod feels this thread needs to move to another topic, please do so.

Amazing how many posters to that blog didn't get it, including some non-believers.

A Google Earth-like interface would have been good - I kept wanting to zoom in a bit more.

I definitely think you put this in the right forum - thanks for posting.
