The reason?

TAM 6 is the same weekend as the Virgin Festival. http://www.virginfestival.ca/calgary/

This frustrates me immensely, as I will miss one of them, and am still debating.

Advantages of each:

Vfest - An international music festival within walking distance of my house.
- It will be less expensive for me.
- Less time, if any off work. Granted missing work is a good thing, but it means less money for me.

TAM - An international conference with lots of cool nerds.
- The chance of being killed and left in the desert.
- The epic fireplace at the Peppermill.

What to do?

Sorry I cant help you much as these would be my two greatest wishes.

The Vfest will be bril but only last for one day.

Tam will be great and last longer.Plus you get to meet great people and learn new stuff. Plus partys and get drunk.

Ok I have made up my mind I would go to Tam

TAM 6 is the same weekend as the Huntington Beach Relay for Life (http://www.relayforlife.org/relay/). I will be walking the Relay.

Not to add to your decision-making process, but:

1. TAM6 will not be near the Peppermill. :( :( :(
2. ...but I will probably be there, while I definitely won't be at the Virgin thing.

So, it's still a toss up, maybe.

TAM6 will have Rebecca party cop crash pool.

Makes your bets now! Many time slots still open!

Hey, a short taxi ride from the Flamingo to the Peppermill - not a problem if a few people go with you - to split the cost... you need to be there.

Alas, TAM is overriding the Solstice Parade in Seattle, an event we haven't missed in years. Right now I'm working to secure a guarantee that Seattle will have a torrential downpour on parade day this year, just to make me feel better.

Even though the line up for the Virgin Festival isn't out yet I can assure you that it sucks horribly and that you don't like any of the acts.

Not as near as Stardust (Requiescat In Conscindo) and Riviera, but still within walking distance.

Who knows? Maybe there's a similar - or maybe even better - place near the Flamingo. Margaritaville (http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/flamingo-las-vegas/restaurants-dining/margaritaville-detail.html) looks like a candidate.

All I can say is how dare you consider even for a moment to not attend TAM.
tsk tsk tsk

You are not willing to sacrifice a virgin? Not even someones virginity?

That will disappoint some of those geeks listening to your web casts.

Virgin festival?

If it is virgins you want I'm sure I could bring some with me to TAM6. Maybe we could start a virgin scholarship?

While I realize American's ideas of exercise are different, a 1 3/4+ mile walk in June Las Vegas heat to the Peppermill is kinda tough. http://www.lasvegashotels-online.com/las-vegas-hotels-strip-map.html?ggle=lvmap&gclid=CL-SudjVrZECFQq0HgodqWHOkQ Highly likely something closer will be adopted for quick runs out to lunch & dinner this year, though a pilgrimage (or quest!) is always an option!

And you'll never know where that is gonna be unless you come this year! :p

***Smacks KingMerv upside the head, just because.:D***

Go to both. Go to the VirginFest on one day, then fly out to TAM for the others. Or the reverse.

What to do?

Go to the Virgin Festival. Pay my way to TAM.

I promise a full and complete report.

It's the best solution.

Really.

Wait...You have to work on that?

I suddenly wonder if someone in Rome is vehemently trying to convert the Pope to Catholicism.
