Ex-Truther Banned On Loose Change Forum

Some of you might remember Mikey Metz who received some attention when he bravely left the truther movement last September (http://extruther.blogspot.com/2007/09/letter-of-resignation.html). Well, he got banned the other day on the Loose Change Forum making this post.

Well first off, I don't support any "official story," I support the mountains of evidence in favor of what actually happened on 9/11: 19 Arab highjackers took over planes with boxcutters and caught America with its pants down.

I think this person's question illustrates the fact that troofers can't comprehend simple disagreement with their CTs. If you don't agree with them, you obviously haven't done your "research." If you're so interested in finding out the motives of debunkers, I must ask you to rejoin us in the real world for a moment. Let's just assume that the "official theory" is the most accurate description of events.

In this case, the 9/11 Troofers:

-- Accuse several innocent people in the mass murder of 3,000 Americans
-- Give Muslim extremists a complete pass
-- Give the rest of the world more reason to hate America
-- Give Americans more reason to despise their government
-- Piss on the graves of the 9/11 victims (i.e. Passengers on Flight 93)
-- Rewrite history to suit your "blame America first" political agenda
(Imagine those high school history students googling 9/11 for a paper, and thinking your CTs are the real deal.)

These are things that rational people consider before throwing out kooky CTs with little to no evidence. Truthers may have their right to free speech, but it doesn't mean your views can't be challenged. I'm sure this explains, more or less, why debunkers do what they do.

Why do I do it? To try to encourage those who sit on the fence or who are even actively involved to stop wasting their time. I spent over a year of my life dedicated to these CTs, and I can't tell you how many nights I wish I could have back, where I was stressing over "not doing enough for the movement." Luckily for me, I realized it was all a farce before any permanent damage was done. I know others who are not that lucky, and have already began to throw away their lives completely in the name of these CTs.

So there you have it. You can go back into your fantasy world now, or you can challenge yourself intellectually and stay here in reality with the rest of us.

To official-story defenders, especially to those of you who spend a lot of time on this issue:

What motivates you to spend so much time defending the official story? Why is this personally important to you?

On both sides, I've noticed a tendency to perceive the other side as dishonest or worse. Perhaps if we understood each other's feelings and motives better, we might be less inclined to assume the worst about each other?

Looks like he was banned by Gideon....this was also the moderator who actually configured all of the non-cter accounts to say "government apologist" under their names.

I was banned there too...apparently for letting stundie call me a dip[rule10].

For anyone unfamiliar with how it works on the loose change forums, there are 2 rules:
1 - No personal attacks
2 - No disagreeing with truthers
Only rule #2 will result in a ban.

Walter, MikeyMetz is a forum member and a regular commenter over at the SLC blog. You can catch him there nearly every day. It certainly doesn't surprise me that the LCF banned him. Debunkers trying to challenge twoofers is one thing, but for a former twoofer activist to point out how flawed the movement is ....well that's like a preacher standing up in his own church and announcing he's become an atheist and that the congregation is delusional. The cult that twooferism has become can be very intolerant of "defectors".

It appears that LC is also back to its old mantra of "any idiotic, pathetic, ridiculous, unfounded, illogical, impossible, and irredeemably stupid theory is okay with us as long as it garners some traffic and attention to our lame little forum and dying, ill-conceived *cough* movement." The latest incarnation of the LC tinhat forum has opened its doors to its previously banished nutcases, such as killclown, merc, aldo, jdx, etc., apparently on the basis that any traffic is better than no traffic.

It looks like Do-Over Dylan (in doing it over yet again) is desperate to wring a few more dollars out of naive tinhatters and desperate to achieve some modicum of significance among twoofer morons after the epic failure of LCFC, and after all of his promises to his fellow tinhatters turned out to be hollow and remain unfulfilled.

It looks like he's now hoping that inviting extreme nutcases back to his crappy little forum might generate enough interest to delay, for a little while at least, his inevitable retreat back to obscurity, and might generate a few more dollars in his pocket in the meantime.

I think that even Do-Over Dylan knows that his latest (lame) attempt won't work for very long, though, and I think that he knows that his twoofer-funded ride (i.e. his snake oil peddling) is coming to an end very soon.

After Roxdog used profanity and insulted me, I was banned for claiming that the truth movement could fit all of the structural engineers who support the conspiracy theory in a minivan. IVXX subsequently banned me (but unsurprisingly didn't prove me wrong).

I can't be sure of the reason though. No warning was given. I assume it was IVXX.

Personally, I would love to see them make it to court with their case. I think Judge Judy would have a field day with them.

There ought to be a law against stupidity in lawsuits but as we have all seen from Aquaboy and George Simpson (not to forget our favorite Willie "GarbageMan" Rodriquez) anything goes in a court but not much stupidity has any effect. So one again CIT gals....SUE ME...the power of enigma compels you :)
