After reading about the Ex-Truther banned on LCF (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=105555) I wanted to see the rest of the thread. While searching I found this (http://s1.zetaboards.com/LooseChangeForums/topic/51182/1/#new).
Apparently we are groupthinkers, a poor role model for a skeptics site (which I think means we don't live up to their definition of "skepticism").
Shall we all agree on this like the groupthinkers that we are?

I wish there was some way to divert all these Truthy lurkers to the politics forum. Then they''d see how much all JREFers agree...

LCF, how dumb can they get? A forum based on a video of stupid/false ideas on 9/11.

Even if we did divert them they would just ignore where we agree and say that we always disagree with them.

Did that one guy really post a question here regarding whether it made sense to design into a building demolition charges so that if it "inevitably" collapsed you could control the collapse?
That is breathtaking in its absurdity.

Yes, apparently our universal American schooling left us lacking in an "under standing" of physics, but also our punctuation is inferior...
Always leave it to a troll to write with more bile and stupidity than any oppressor he chooses to "expose."

I don't think it was the flatulence that offended them, but rather that you didn't high-five them afterwards.

Wow, lots of projection on that post:
They don't need proof, they are told what to think and anyone who posts a different view from the status quo is rounded upon and hounded out the joint.
Most of those who post there are social outcasts and have a desire to belong, they will prostitute their integrity to feel part of a group.
Something they don't have in the real world.
And for the last time, I do not know who banned me over at the JREF forum and neither do I care. As I've said, it was just an excuse to stop me from making your favourite debunker Gravy look silly, not that he needs any help.

I wouldn't think so. The preferred action is to remain in the elevator and hit the emergency stop, but your response is well within the rules of fart protocol.

Wow, lots of projection on that post:
By "social outcasts" they must mean our disgusting tendency to lock ourselves up in office buildings or other places of business and work instead of being out among the people on street corners and yelling nonsense at them. :p

Apparently, he did (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1926682#post1926682). It's buried in the giant Christophera thread. He snuck it in in a response to one of Belz' discussions with Christophera (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1926630#post1926630).
I suspect his "experiment" really comes into play here (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1927294#post1927294):

No, it sounds quite reasonable and prudent and I don't know if other buildings are wired this way or not, that's not my concern and neither is the potency of the explosives.
Why do you ridicule the logic of having a mechanism for making safe a very tall building that could devastate its surroundings? You may not like the idea or find it distasteful but it would preserve a lot of real estate and lives if it were in place. A controlled collapse enacted prior to a potentially devastating free collapse is logical and humane.
It also doesn't need to have a sinister CT attached to it.
I'll leave it to others to decide if Belz' response to that (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1927950#post1927950) (or even Blue Mountain's (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1928000#post1928000), or dirtywick's (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=1928020#post1928020)) "did not contain a philosophical analysis!" (whatever the heck that means....)
But in any case, just another example of old Billy Rea being too full of himself.

Horatius:
Thanks for your help. I do not know what is the most surprising, to be honest:
1. The ridiculous notion that tall buildings should come pre-wired with demolition charges;
2. His claim that no one seriously responded to it, when they clearly did, and pointed out the fundamental flaws in his reasoning, which he waves off as "not his concern."
3. That almost two years later he pulls out this horrible idea as an example of JREF not thinking outside the box?

Maybe the truthers should take pry bars into other tall buildings and look for the pre-planted demo charges. They would be doing everyone a favor and proving their position. :)

Having dealt with William's tenuous grasp of the truth on previous occasions, I can assure you that none of those are surprising.

Perhaps it means one devoid of facts?
"Who are you?" said Lunkwill, rising angrily from his seat. "What do you want?"
"I am Majikthise!" announced the older one.
"And I demand that I am Vroomfondel!" shouted the younger one.
Majikthise turned on Vroomfondel. "It's alright," he explained angrily, "you don't need to demand that."
"Alright!" bawled Vroomfondel banging on an nearby desk. "I am Vroomfondel, and that is not a demand, that is a solid fact! What we demand is solid facts!"
"No we don't!" exclaimed Majikthise in irritation. "That is precisely what we don't demand!"
Scarcely pausing for breath, Vroomfondel shouted, "We don't demand solid facts! What we demand is a total absence of solid facts. I demand that I may or may not be Vroomfondel!"
"But who the devil are you?" exclaimed an outraged Fook.
"We," said Majikthise, "are Philosophers."
"Though we may not be," said Vroomfondel waving a warning finger at the programmers.

Responding with the Webster's definition of irony is perfectly acceptable, but tr00thers wouldn't accept it anyway. Or be able to comprehend it.
