Yes, it appears that fighting special interests by taking money from lobbyists and PACs can't keep Hillary afloat.

This is reminicient of certain Republican candidates...

So will she pull a McCain and be the comeback kid? Will she flop like Giuliani waiting for a March primary that she has a chance of winning? Or will she be like Huckabee/Romney and just not die?

She loaned her campaign the money? Does she expect them to pay her back?

How about we drop the Harlot issue :catfight:

What we know:

-The Clintons recently injected $5 million of their own cash into the campaign
-Obama just raised something on the order of $6.5 million tonight

Q4 Fundraising:

http://i27.tinypic.com/2qtzwjk.jpg

-75% of Clinton's cash came from $1000+ donations, 50% gave the maximum
-54% of Obama's cash came from $1000+ donations, 33% gave the maximum

Given the personal cash infusion the Clintons recently poured into the campaign and Obama's ability to tap new donors and repeat donors that are not maxed out, I don't see how this could be construed as anything but bad news for the Clintons on the fundraising front. I believe Clinton is going to be pulverized in Louisiana and Nebraska on Saturday, if she doesn't hold the line in Maine on Sunday, then Virginia and Maryland on Tuesday fundraising will become very difficult. I'm not one for gloating over the vanquished but it's not difficult to see the dominoes being lined up towards the end of Clinton's campaign. Although, if events do play out as such I will take a small indulgence if Bill goes nuts.

At last, a substantive post on this thread. Thank you.

Heard a couple of things on Fox News this am (I had to say Fox News because I know it just frosts some people off royally):

Her campaign has already repaid her the five mill as a result of this news; she got five million in web donations last night after the news hit.
There's speculation that her campaign is not out of money at all; note neither she nor anyone in her campaign said so. The loan was simply a little gamesmanship designed to make people think she needed the money and go online to donate.
Obama also raised about three million last night over the web.I'm so glad campaign finance reform has removed the evil, corrupting influence of money from politics.

I'd donate money to Josef Stalin's campaign to see that.

While trying to find a second source to confirm that, this image was the fist to come up.

Only giving more credence to my thoughts after Iowa...

Will be interesting to see how this loan story plays out, I'm sure something is bound to pop up on a liberal blog.

*Edit

Sure enough, here it is:

Looks like Clinton challenged her supporters to raise $3 million last night and an unverified email was floated saying that she had met the goal. One commenter also raised the idea that Bill will inject his $20 million severance bonus from Ron Burkle into Hillary's campaign. Additionally, reading other diaries on DailyKos has reminded me how painful liberal blogs are scour through.

There. Continue...

I'd donate money to Josef Stalin's campaign to see that.Interesting info (But you used Faux "News" Propaganda!!!)!

I wonder if it is also to put pressure on Obama to win every primary this month, otherwise she will be able to claim to have won against all odds.

But even if she did get the money back, she has to raise a lot more. Because it wasn't exactly good press for her campaign, and it distracted the news from reporting more on her victories in Mass., New Jersey, and California.

If it was all about raising money I don't think this was the smartest way.

Ta dum.
