It appears that militant Islamists in the Sudan have violated a key component (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=31033)of the UN Treaty on Human Rights, making Sudan a candidate state for open invasion by the forces of the United Nations.

As quoted from the article: "The jihad is our way, and we will not abandon it and will keep its banner high," he said to a brigade of mujahedin fighters heading for the war front. "We will never sell out our faith and will never betray the oath to our martyrs."

That attitude can be adjusted with B-52's, laser-guided bombs and an air-cavalry regiment.

In a videotaped interview, villager Tunya Jok said he witnessed his 4-year -old daughter being shot and killed as she fled from the soldiers. Later, his 6-year-old son was captured and beheaded by the soldiers. The boy's body was thrown into a burning hut and his head planted upright, facing away from the dwelling.

Sounds like the United States may have to get a safari going in the Sudan and pay these so-called "Islamists" a visit. Every last one of these people who murdered those children should be hanged, or at a minimum have their bodies filled with bullets fired from high-powered assault rifles.

All "radical Islam" does is attack and murder innocent children.

Actually, I agree with you.

Oh, not to the extent of condemning an entire world religion because a particular radical sect is behaving badly, and not to the extent of saying that Uncle Sam ought to personally send in troops to clean up yet another world mess a la Somalia, but...

Sudan has a sucky human rights record, and I agree with you to the extent that I wish the UN would do more about it. Seems like the Mideast gets all the attention these days.

FWIW, the U.S. has officially "condemned" the attacks.

Washington Condemns Targeting of Civilians

Nairobi

The US government, having studied a report by the Independent Civilian Protection Monitoring Team (CPMT) operating in Sudan, on Tuesday condemned what it termed "unconscionable attacks and abuses against civilians" by the government there.

Richard Boucher, spokesman for the US Department of State in Washington DC, said government and allied militia forces had "deliberately targeted and displaced civilians" during operations in the oil-rich western Upper Nile (Wahdah State) region of southern Sudan in December and January.

Boucher told reporters that the US "expects the government of Sudan to pursue peace in good faith" by adhering to the provisions of the 4 February addendum to the October 2002 cessation of hostilities agreement.

"The specific actions the government must take are clearly and unambiguously set forth in this addendum," he said, "and preliminary reports indicate that the government may be taking some steps to act in accordance with those provisions."But I wouldn't look for any big U.S.-led movement to "do something" about the Sudan. This has been going on for a LONNNNG time, and Iraq and North Korea are much more important to the current administration because Iraq and North Korea might (or might not ;) ) have nukes.
