So now the Republicans have their nominee.

(Well, no. Doublechecked, McCain will be 68 short)

My distaste for McCain aside, at least this makes it that much more unlikely that Huckabee will be anywhere near the White House.

Can't wait to hear a restless Mark Levin tomorrow, lol.

Looks as though the GOP leadership wants to close the campaign and look at the Dems rip each other apart.

Another slap in the face to Ron Paul!

I'm watching McCain on Larry King and get the feeling he's assuming he'll die while in office.

Romney did the intelligent thing. Instead of doing like the Democrats, he let go of the bone and decided to side with his opponent for the greater good of the party.
One of the Democrats *caugh* Hillary*caugh* should stand down, because the more they attack eachother, the more they will end up hurting their chances in the long run. I think the public is tired of fratricide trash campains. And I'm sure alot of people see clearly who's in it for their own personal gain *caugh* Hillary*caugh*.
Damn cold season.

Dude, Romney just needs to shut up now. Srsly. What a douche.

Not that Huckadingleberry has a chance, but I am not sure all Romney's delegates automatically go to McCain. I think it is more complicated than handing over his bag of marbles.

Stealthabee is just taking a break today, he's not going to go away. Hey, he could run on a third party. :D

No it isn't. Can't you see how this makes Ron Paul a real power broker? Soon McCain is 26 delegates short, and who has 26 delegates? Yes, Ron Paul who will then be McCain's running mate, and since McCain is old and infirm but Ron Paul is a year older but immortal, he will soon succeed McCain in the Oval Office, and the REVOLUTION will be on it's way! PWNED!!

Seconded :D Ron being in the campaign till the end is a huge
success from many POV's.

Mhmm, actually the national debt is L(I)AO (http://www.brillig.com/debt_clock/) - especially in case
of Hillary/McCain. But McCain won't win anyway - and Romney's
endorsement supports the assumption that he left the race in
the parties interest. No Idea what kind of deal was sealed behind
the scenes.
Any background-info ... someone? :)

Except McCain is a war president, and RP would never shut up about getting out. It would be like the odd couple.
RP won't run third party, meaning after the convention, he's gone. And staying in til nov 4th means nothing, look at Nader and Perot.

It means a lot - people won't forget Paul if Mc Cain wins the
presidency. So let's hope Obama doesn't get the nomination
or McCain can't win and Romney's endorsement was nothing
but a waste of breath.

Except, that it is well becoming obvious Obama will be taking office come Nov. 4th, thus making the entire GOP run irrelevant this year.
That is if OH and TX don't screw everything up. On this, I do still worry.

Eh... what, Oliver?
McCain can win (a) and Obama is likely to get the nomination (b) and Ron Paul has no chance (c)
(However, a more detailed look indicates that he is further away than I thought, yes)

You want Obama ... a longstanding opponent of the Iraq war ... to lose the Democratic nomination ... in favor of Hillary "Blood & Thunder" Clinton .... so that McCain ... also something of a hawk ... will become President ... so that the war will continue ... so that people will "remember" your candidate ... who is pledged to stop the war ... which is why you liked him in the first place ... surely?
Look, isn't there some way of "remembering" Ron Paul, possibly involving some sort of tasteful plaque, that doesn't involve prolonging the Iraq war until people start voting for him?

It's hard to forget something that one never really knew. Most people have no interest in knowing or remembering Paul because most people think he's kooky.

Most people dont know who he is. Ask around and you will see what i mean.
"Ron Paul?... The cross dresser?"
OSK-"No, no, no, the man running for the republican nomination."
"You mean there's people other then Mccain and that priest governor?"
You will see what i mean when you just start asking people...lolz
