Meteor falls to Earth (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331390,00.html)

Interesting story but something struck me as unusual about it (in a good way), especially considering that it's on the Fox news page. Any guesses?

I'm just surprised they still think we'll fall for that tired old "meteor" excuse. All hail our reptilian overlords.

What I found unusual is that they used the term "meteor" correctly, rather than the often misused "meteorite" or the lesser known "meteoroid".

Oh. And that it was reported as a meteor, summer lightning, a rocket, a satellite, or an exploding transformer, but not as a UFO.

The fact that it appears to be fairly sensible?

Or did they mean an exploding Transformer (tm)? (In which case, it is aliens)

But to expand on NobbyNobbs:
The article did correctly differentiate between the two in the same paragraph. "Chester said people commonly think they see a meteor hit or about to hit the ground, when it is nowhere close. Most meteorites that strike the Earth are never found, he said."

Yes, I was alluding to the fact that they didn't mention UFO's at all.

Yet.

How about where they claim it had been flying around in space for millions of years. I figured everyone at Fox News were young earth creationists. :D

The weird thing is that the USAF is reporting that a test of an experimental supersonic stealth nuclear balistic spaceplane went "really, really well; not at all problematic and just great, thanks for asking."

That struck me, too.
