This weeks edition was devoted to the moon and spent a good 15 min debunking the moon landing hoax theories - f.e. they went for independent evidence at german observatories. Ah, Lesch. Good guy. Heard a great interview (http://mp3.podcast.hr-online.de/mp3/podcast/hr2_doppelkopf/hr2_doppelkopf_20090213.mp3?tl=html) with him recently. When asked how his fellow professors at the jesuit-run Maximilian University Munich view his work, he said "they love it - I'm their quota heretic!". Hehe. I was surprised to hear that by heretic he means protestant. I would have thought Lesch is an agnostic.

Yesterday's extralong (89min) Quarks & Co episode (http://medien.wdr.de/m/1257883200/quarks/wdr_fernsehen_quarks_und_co_20091110.mp4) was excellent!

Woher wissen wir, dass der Käse aus Milch ist, der Erdbeer-Joghurt frische Erdbeeren enthält und die Creme gegen Zellulitis auch wirkt? Vielleicht sind wir nur der Werbung auf den Leim gegangen. Und was ist mit Zaubertricks, optischen Täuschungen und unserem Gedächtnis? Können wir da unseren Augen und unserem Gehirn trauen? A rather new podcast - they just sent me the 12th episode - is Raumzeit (http://www.raumzeit-podcast.de/), a project by European Space Agency and Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, about space travel. I haven't actually listened to it yet, but can recommend it because i know the host they hired, Tim Pritlove, from his main podcast Chaosradio Express (http://chaosradio.ccc.de/chaosradio_express.html) (about "Technology, Society and Culture"), and he's excellent and doesn't get involved in BS.

Raumzeit ist eine Serie von Gesprächen mit Wissenschaftlern, Ingenieuren und Organisatoren des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) und der Europäischen Raumfahrtorganisation (ESA), die maßgeblich an den Raumfahrt-Projekten Deutschlands und Europas mit gestalten. Die Gespräche werden aufgezeichnet und in regelmäßiger Folge – in der Regel alle zwei Wochen – als Podcast veröffentlicht.
