Money markets and CDs, in the 5-6% range just a short time ago, are now hovering somewhere in the 3s. :( Think it's worth checking T-bills or bonds or some such for a short term (1/2 years) push? Thoughts?

Thoughts?Your risk-free rate of interest has been reduced to encourage you to go spend/invest the money on something else. Mr Bernanke would prefer you to have a splurge :)

As does the USD value of the Aussie dollar. However, a foreign currency asset, even if it is a T-bill, has much higher risk than a domestic one, and is a very inappropriate short term investment. That is, if "short term" is taken to include in its meaning "minimal probability of large loss"
