Just loaded real player on my system to help some folks with a presentation their making.

Since it's a work machine I have to use Internet Explorer. After loading this software I checked my "trusted sites" in IE (under Internet Options -> Security->Trusted Sites).

Realplayer had been kind enough to add an AOL web site to the trusted sites area. I have no doubt that somewhere in the EULA I agreed to that, but (like most folks) I rarely bother to read those things. At least for my work PC.

Just a heads up: You may want to check your trusted sites and remove anything you don't want in there.

They're pretty evil. I wouldn't install RP on my most hated enemy's machine. (You hear that, Coulter? Some people have limits.)

But here's a good article on RP:

That link was right on, I once made the mistake of "upgrading" to RealOne from an old version of RealPlayer. Damn thing locked up my computer every time, lousy piece of crap. Uninstalled it pronto.

Honorable mention in the "worst software ever" category: Netscape 7.0. Made my computer run 100X slower and made me a IE user ever since.
