The hard-rock band Hell on Earth had said that a suicide by a terminally ill person would take place during a concert Saturday to raise awareness of right-to-die issues.

The show was canceled, but what does this say about our civilization?

Um, maybe that some people will do just about anything for publicity?

If your music sucks, you gotta do something to get noticed. Practicing is too hard!

Dr. Kevorkian was so much more dignified!

I wonder what the band was planning? Background thrash music and a pyrotechnic display as the poor bastard tops himself??

How gross.

Maybe the guy was the drummer. What was the band's name again?

I bet it's an anti-smoking stunt. Somebody is going to light a cigarette, and that is a form of "suicide".

Who wants to put up money that I'm totally right on this? I bet you anything I am right.

It says either

A.) We live in very sick times

or

B.) There's a lot of people extremely willing to believe that we live in very sick times, often on the basis of hearsay.

of course it's likely to be

C.) All of the above

NO. It's somebody smoking a cigarette. That's suicide.

I am sometimes wrong, I admit, but I know I am right this time, nearly 99% certain, or maybe even 100%.

Somebody will light up a smoke. I can't believe people are falling for this. It's an anti-smoking stunt. I am right. You watch.....

I'll take that bet.

Past band performances have included sodomizing skinned calves and blending dead rats then having fans drink the concoction. (http://www.hellonearth.net/news.htm)

It says to me that the right-to-die movement in Briton needs some more appropraite spokepersons.
