According to this Pew report, linky (http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?PageID=1254), among Obama supporters if Obama is the nominee they go 97-3 for Obama. If Clinton is the nominee, they go 86-10 for Clinton. For Clinton supporters, if she is the nominee they go 98-1 for her, and if Obama is the nominee they go 65-25 for Obama.
Statistical proof that Hillary supporters are more cultish :p .
But this statistic makes it look like Hillary would be the better choice for the general election.
Of course, this is the only time I've seen this stat, so I don't know how consistant it is.

Not necessarily if Obama gets more independents and crossover republicans. That's why in the first table, they both add up to 50%. There's some people who would vote for Obama but not for Clinton, and others who would vote for Clinton but not Obama. But in that poll they both add up to the same number, and apparantly more swing voters would at least consider Obama because McCain gets 45% vs. Clinton vs. only 43% vs. Obama.
ETA: That is just one poll BTW.
Here are averages of several recent polls:
McCain vs. Clinton (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_clinton-224.html)
McCain Vs. Obama (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/us/general_election_mccain_vs_obama-225.html)
Obama does better in the average of polls than Clinton.

This article (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=aR7w.d5nIrCc) says that Obama can't win the 'Archie Bunker' voters.
