Times Square bombing in the early AM today, apparent target a military recruiting office.

Armed Forces Career Center on the traffic island bounded by 43rd and 44th Streets, Seventh Avenue and Broadway at 3:43 a.m., the Times is reporting. "No one was injured, and after a temporary interruption, subway service was restored."
Given the small size of the device used, seems more of a political statement than a terrorist attack.
New Yorkers, what's your take on this?

I guessed current events, but politics is just as good a category.
