Apparently, it is Iraq war week. If you watch newsnight they have short plays.

Did anyone watch dispatches?
Basically, the middle class or doctors and teachers have fled Iraq or have been systematically killed. Not only that 30% of children have witness violence or death, they said 1/4 of people have a family member killed like a cousin. Not only that, but the people who supported American's and Britian who worked as translators have been betrayed.

Anyway, 5 years of war when will this end. McCain said he will stay in for a hundred years and the surge was a failure. This is proberly going to go down as the worst millitary decision in history.

Saddam Hussain was a good thing, atleast he control everyone so there is no chaos, you know the greater good. Saying that have we got a democracy? as we had mass protest not to go into Iraq and yet the government did.

P.S. Terrorism is worst now, as something called operation blowback is happening. 7 7 is a good example.
P.S.S. You should watch Dispatches tonight at 8pm channel four. Also, newsnight(in reality this should be your only source of news)

Did you feel the same way about Pinochet? Support the Chinese for the current events in Tibet?

South Africa was more stable under apartheid...

Careful what you wish for!

Tibet wants democracy, I don't see Bush and Brown going into Tibet to provide it. If you going to free Iraq then why don't they free everybody else. Maybe, because there is proberly not enough oil in Tibet and they can't mess around with china.

South Africa, well the UK and US should really go into the most unstable parts where there is dictatorship and get rid off them. Instead, were in Iraq and it is clear that it is not working.
Careful what you wish for!
Alot of people wish for Saddam Hussain to be back, again some people would rather live a stable oppressive life then one in a war zone. Clearly, there was no uprising in Iraq like Tibet, if there was then you would have a case. A good example is Russia.

er there was in 1991: In the South (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_uprisings_in_Iraq#South_Iraq)

and the North (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_uprisings_in_Iraq#North_Iraq)

Encouraging the rebellions and then abandoning them was one of the worst descisions that the West made in the last 20 years in the Middle East.

I especially liked the idea of a no-fly zone; i.e. it was unsporting to bomb the rebels, but using tanks was fair-game.

Mind you, there was a reason for not encouraging the rebellions, because if the rebellions succeded, Iraq would have been in a state of chaos and a cause of instability in the whole region. It might have even tied up many western troops.
