They really shouldn't have zoomed in, makes it look a lot more computer animated.

How convenient that the guys back away just out of camera shot so they don't have to continue acting, and that the video ends there.
Wouldn't you keep the film running and keep an eye on that? You'd be frightened, sure, but to run away and leave the area completely is not something any reasonable person would do in reality.
The only thing it could be is CGI, as far as I can see.

Yeah, it's well done. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was some sort of viral marketing thingy.

Looks like the animation was inspired by a scene in the movie "Signs".
When Joaquin Phoenix's character is watching a newscast that shows amateur video of an alien. The alien in the movie is quite different looking, but the "cross an opening/ look to the camera" nature of the shot made me think of it instantly.
Great creepy scene in the movie though, and Joaquin's reaction is perfect.

The most distressing thing about the clip is some of the viewer comments underneath it:
GatewayMayo: you cant fake that. Just the way it moves proves its real and the way it reacts
aceBryan7ox: If you don't think this video is real, show me proof!
Uh-huh. Critical thinking at its finest.

In a perfect world, "it's on youtube" would be enough.

Oh my god.
That is not even a good CGI, they did not properly blend the film grain of the camera in with the creature, or the creatures shadows. It makes it look fake. Its all very subtle but you can tell that it is CGI in the way it moves also. It is clearly a CGI to me, being a person that plays a lot of video games.

Also I would point out that the scene appears to only be illuminated by the flashlight and the camera. However, you will notice that the shadow of the "alien" is visible on the back wall before the little bugger comes into the door opening.
This would only be possible if there was a light source within the room on the wall facing the front of the monster. There is no indication that this is the case so I would assume that the shadow appearing before the alien is out is a sloppy mistake in the CGI.

It appears that the guy who posted the video on YouTube won't allow dissenting views. So it is carefully filtered to only allow the critical thinking-challenged.
