I'm a big fan of Jeffrey Outlaw Shallit's blog. Here is his entry on fractal wrongness:

a very pretty picture, but I'd say his philosophical extrapolation from it is mathematically incorrect.
Specifically at one level an argument can be valid and appear to be sound, even if it is unsound. When a premise to a valid proposition, is formed by the conclusion of a prior proposition, then one has to follow through several recursive iterations where the argument still appears sound (correct) before the conclusion can be shown to be unsound (wrong).
;) sorry for being so literal
disclaimer: creationist so I'm biased

I apologize for the derail, but I followed this link from Jeffrey Shallit's blog, and it is too hilarious - a call to customer support that depends upon understanding the difference between dollars and cents (hint: they fail).

Fractally wrong! Holy cow! At first funny, then just a sad commentary on our education system.

Brilliant link! That was like Spinal Tap, it is hard to believe it is real. I don't know how he kept his cool. Best thing on the internet.
