Florida business owners are outraged about a billboard reading "All religions are fairy tales." The billboard (pictured below) is quickly removed.

The interesting thing about this story (http://www.wftv.com/news/15735444/detail.html#) is the owner of the billboard claims that that the removal does not constitute of censorship by an outdoor media company bowing to public pressure. They claim that that the image and words were some kind of prank billboard installed without their knowledge and permission. If you believe the owner of the billboard, some band of militant atheist pranksters did the following: (1) Designed the billboard--not that hard to do; (2) Produced a full sized color billboard; (3) Took it to the site; (4) Installed it correctly and (5) Were not seen by anyone and (6) knew what they were doing because it looks like a pretty good job.

Perhaps this signals a new wave of anti-religious graffiti?

I suppose this means that we'll now see a wave of people putting up similar billboards all over the place and swarming the streets and Internet with fairy imagery in the name of 'free speech'? You know, since the eebil Christians are trying to shut down free speech in the USA?

No? Darn.

Here's hoping. Although I think the release of the 'Life Of Brain' filled the quota for some time to come.

Around here, there are printers who print banners. On a billboard of this size, that may be how it was done, which would make installing it just a matter of getting the size right and fastening it in place. It would be a relatively expensive prank, as I think the banners can run into the hundreds, but someone who's sold his soul to the devil probably has lots of filthy lucre to throw away, right?

You could easily get a banner like that in exchange for one of your children's kidneys.

I don't find any of those to be that unbelievable. Ron English (http://popaganda.com/billboards/index.shtml) routinely does this kind of work, and I think he often gets it done with just one partner. The entire image can be comprised of smaller strips, which are easier to paste up than one big piece.

The story has been pulled from the TV station's website already.
