Yes it finally been annoced, if you don't believe me look in the clay mathematics website(look below for link), there giving the way the million pounds. The person who got it called de Branges is going to use it to build a mathematical istitute from a castle.

If your a fan of newscientist you can read it online, however they don't give the full details.

Coincidentally, I've just been reading Karl Sabbagh's excellent book about the Riemann Hypothesis, and he devotes a lot of time to de Branges and his purported proof. Most mathematicians seem to doubt de Branges' proof, although it has not really been reviewed yet by anyone.

I tried to read it myself, but it's not my field and I got lost at the second page.

I don't know, but from what I understand, a hell of a lot of other theories depend on it being true.

INRM - You ask a lot of questions that would be easily answered by using google or wikipedia.

Why don't you start there, read on your own, and then bring better questions and/or nuggets that you find here?
