Hi all,

Can anyone suggest good on or offline resources for finding out about the history of the Freemasons? My father was one and has just past away and I wanted to find out a bit more about them. There seems to be so much about them connected to conspiracy theories and the like and just wanted to know a bit more about them.

I'm also interested substatiating or debunking a theory that the early Freemasons were in some way linked to a parallel sect called the Weavers that I've found a bit about.

Thanks for your help.

Weavers appears out of date but still used in Netherlands - wives of Fms group. Apparently was wives group from early days . Go to www.dogpile.com for info, just input Freemasons Weavers and hit fetch.

Thanks for that link, really insightful and interesting. It's nice to get the info in context to waht was happening Socially at the time.

Re: The weavers from what I've read they were connected to the Cathars initially and would probably have had women as they were involved in weaving codes into cloth to keep their secret hidden. They seem a really interesting group that little is known about. I'm only really just getting to grips with them. Are you aware of them at all?
