Edmund Standing announced on the Conspiracy Smasher blog that he has written an article on the pseudo-science of Steven Jones and Judy Wood:

whatever did happen to Judy Wood that she lasted only seven years as an ass.prof.? Denied tenure? Not that I'm complaining if the system worked and they let her go...

I do beleive that she was indeed denied tenure.
She was regularly trashed by her students on the "rate my professor" web site.

Yeah, can't find the link right now, but apparently she was out jogging in Las Vegas early one morning, was hit by a car and spent six years without coming out of it. When she recovered, she decided she wanted to become a professor and set about doing it. Reportedly her pseudonym (when she first went "Truther") of Jane Doe (plus some numbers) was her name while in the coma because she didn't have any ID on her when she was found.

Anyone else seen that brilliant UK TV show "Life On Mars"? This Judy Wood story reminds me of it somewhat.
I think Judy was living in an alternate world while in the coma, unfortunately for her, she doesn't realise that she's awake now.
