View Full Version : I met my first truther.

Up until now I've only encountered the "Truth" here on the internet, but today a real truther walked into my store.
The gentleman was browsing my store and asked about shortwave radios and I showed them where they were. He made a comment about needing to own one if another Republican is elected president.
Then he turned and looked me right in the eye and asked me THE question: "Have you seen Loose Change?"
I was so caught off guard that I stood there speechless until it sank in that I had just been asked about LC.
All I could say was "Loose Change is filled with lies and Dylan Avery is full of crap." Not the most diplomatic way to start off I know, but I was completely unprepared for the situation.
He followed up with the standard "Where's the plane in Pennsylvania?", "The coroner said he didn't see a single drop of blood", "How did an airliner fit through a 16ft hole at the Pentagon?" etc.
He was polite the entire time and even stopped and waited for me to help customers that came in before continuing to preach the truth of LC. I wanted to ask him which version of LC he was getting his info from but I got a big surge of customers and he eventually tired of waiting and left.
Now I'm going to have to study up so I can discuss things properly if he returns.

I would have tried to sell him the special radio that picks up NWO secret messages, it looks exactly like the one for $19.95 but it costs $999.95... ;)

I understand your shock. I can recall meeting only one twoofer in my day-to-day life - an uncle who also saw LC and bought into it. That was over a year ago and he hasn't said anything about it since so he might be cured.
This other guy at work took a "just asking questions" approach and seemed embarrassed when I pointed out what rubbish 9/11 twoof is, so I won't count him.
Every single other one I've met has been because I actually went out of my way to find them - GZ in NYC and a couple 11th of the month "rallies" here in Toronto.

Why would he need a radio if another Republican is elected president?

Debating them on the Internet is one thing. They can more easily derail the discussion and ignore inconvenient questions.
But to debate one face to face?

Yes, you need to package up the NWO truth radio special edition. You can make money, do not argue, make money. Sometime you must sacrifice your ideas about 9/11, to make a killing off the truther guy. He will buy anything if he buys LC.
It could be Swing, or Red, or...

No, you wouldn't. The ones I have met are sad, misguided lost people. They had a definite aura of mental illness, paranoia, and were absolutely socially incompetent.

That guy is behind the Truther curve. The latest Truther info is it does'nt matter if Obama/Hilary or McCain get elected president, both parties are controlled by the New World Order.

So he can tune into Judy Wood Space Beam Radio ("The Beam") on 9116.66 kHz.

I'm going to guess that you will need shortwave to get the real news from overseas and not the NWO controlled American media.

P.S. Who added those SnapShot popups to the linkies? I hate those things!

judging by his JAQing probably 2nd edition (or 2e:recut, the difference is minimal)

Not to pick on religious people, that isn't my intention. But isn't it funny that truthers approach people which much the same tactics as anyone asking, "Have you heard the good news?" This has led me to the opinion that the truth movement is much like any other religion, and that you have to approach its members in much the same way. Basically by saying you are not interested and hoping that they take the hint and leave you alone.

They're also using the theme of "the lost sheep(le)"!
I think you're on to something. May I interest you in a copy of Loose Change, good sir?;):p

According to an April Stundie nomination, it doesn't matter.
If the FBI can hear us when our cell phones are off, I doubt very much short wave radio technology will hold them off for long either.

My favorite is the Alex Jones one that says that Google watches us through our webcams as we are using the internet. So basically all Mac users are being watched all the time, even when their webcams are turned off.

I met a debunker once. Knowing how easily he`d fall for anything, I slapped him in the back of the head. He turned around and said "why did you do that?" I laughed and said "do what?" He replied "you`re the only one here, so you had to be the one who slapped me." I laughed again and said " Prove it!"

Then I woke up, realizing I would never have the nerve to hit anyone.

I think trutherism has blown past quasi-religious and moved straight to cult status, maybe one or two steps below the types waiting for the spaceship in the comet.

Yeah. They have reached that "everyone is against you stage". One of the things that disturbed me when I was still a truther was the number of people who were about overthrowing the government. It is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy with them. They fear the government cracking down on them, yet many actively engaging in trying to be a threat to the government, inevitably leading to the crack down.

I actually know a truther, two of them.
... and I make a point not to discuss Isreal or 9/11 with them. Because throw in facts and suddenly, they, and the people agreeing with them 'dont care'
Sigh. I should get my claws sharpened. :(
