Granted, Bill Clinton is stilted from having the world's most masculine butch harridan for his "wife" that he's probably desperate for ANY female in a thong. So we need to give him some leeway. Still...

Check out these FLDS chicks. :jaw-dropp Compared to the general American female population on display at, say, Walmart, a highly disproportionate number of the FLDS sex machines are quite warm on the hottie scale.

Yeah, yeah, the dresses are overly opaque and all, but that just adds to their allure, in a way. Compared to such putrid flaunters as Paris Hilton, J-Lo, Britney, et al, ad nauseum, even the average FLDS chicks are way hot. Notice how few of them are obese, unlike most of the hip hugger spaghetti-strap top rotund disgustos running around at the American malls?

Based on these babes, in answer to the age-old question of "Marian or Ginger?": it's definitely "Mary Ann! In a pioneer dress!:D I suppose one COULD get used to doing it in long underwear if the incentive is hot enough.

You know... I look at this FLDS women with their c.1870s dresses and uncut hair and just want to smack them into the 21st Century, but that sensation is tempered by the fact that most, if not all of them, have been sexually and mentally abused by the older men and women of the FLDS cult and ultimately I feel sorry for them and hope they can find a way out of their nightmare and into a life with some semblance of normalcy.

I can understand the urge to post the inane mockery of the OP, but as a human being who has compassion for his fellow human beings I find it sickening and disgusting.

What makes this situation all the worse is that I don't think they know they are abused and don't want to find a way out. What a horrible situation to be in where their "semblance of normalcy" is my (me being a young girl) ultimate nightmare.

And now they are being abused by the state government. These women are not the abusers, they are also victims.

Sounds like Farmall is looking to have a religious experience.

But seriously, did you notice how much they all look alike?

Looks like them polygamists have been doing tooo much fishing in the shallow end of the gene pool.

Matter of fact, isn't that on major problem with polygamy? All those children with the same father's genes make for shoals in the gene pool.

Actually, once an acceptable level of quality is reached, evolution favours quantity over improved quality. If it didn't, wouldn't we all be Einsteins by now?

In two generations that one male fundy LDS will have more ancestors than you or I will have in the next ten. Polygamy is a fantastic evolutionary tool.

But it is, you know, a sacrifice required for the future of the human race. I hasten to add that since each man will be required to do prodigious... service along these lines, the women will have to be selected for their sexual characteristics which will have to be of a highly stimulating nature.

When I was 10 or 12, I read a sci-fi story where the two political camps were the "Populationists" and the "Depopulationists." Guess who won, and why. That story made a huge impression on me, with its stark, obvious, unpleasant truth.

Of course, that's still probably not a fair comparison. Ever since I saw Kelly McGillis giving herself a sponge bath for Harrison Ford's viewing pleasure in Witness, I can't help but give Amish women highest marks among 18th-century-lifestyle religious hotties.

I find it hard to equate the humour of comparing Clinton's and Jeffs' choices in women with laughing at the abuse these women may have suffered. You will have to explain the connection.

What I find obvious is that certain people look to take offense at every opportunity and succeed. Others see the intended humour of the post and succeed in getting a chuckle out of it.

Seriously though - what is it with the strange hairstyles all these women have to wear? I can guess it's probably something to do with that bit in the NT that damms women for having long hair on view. But if that were the case, couldn't they just keep it cropped short, or cover it with headscarves? And it must take each woman a huge amount of time each day to keep her hair looking looking that way - especially if they're not allowed to use modern styling products.
The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that Jeffs watched way too many Dynasty episodes in the 80s.

I don't think it was the comparison that offended people as much as referring to the women as "sex machines" and similar attitude throughout the post. Kind of like "See these recently released pictures of a rape victim? I'd hit it, so hard that if you pulled me out you'd become the king of England."

What I find obvious is that certain people look to take offense at every opportunity and succeed. Others see the intended humour of the post and succeed in getting a chuckle out of it.
I don't see how those two are mutually exclusive, I laugh at offensive jokes a lot. I don't think this was very funny either way, but as Ladewig pointed out, he would probably have got better reactions if he had posted it in the "Humor" section. People come here with a different mindset.

From my understanding, this particular sect forbids women from cutting their hair (or having someone else cut it). I don't know if there are strict rules about what you do with your uncut hair. What is striking about these women (looking at the photos) is that they all have almost identical styles of bringing that long hair up onto the head by way of braiding. I was puzzled on how this was done until I saw a photo showing the back of the head. There is more than one way to do this, but they all seem to do it the same way.

So I can see their uniform hairstyle and begin to wonder what is dictated by their scripture and what is a result of their internal and isolated culture. Scripture is written rules, but culture and social conformity is not. Uncut hair on a woman may very well extend to the butt and beyond. It may be too much for any woman to braid her own hair to bring it to what we see. Does this particular hair styling require women to "do" each others hair? If so, does that force a kind of necessity of social bonding and possibly the elimination of expressions of individuality by way of being unable to "do" your own hair? You could have a 36" ponytail, but you will not get one unless your stylist is willing to give you one. The other woman that is "doing" your hair may also continually act as your social conformity guidance counselor.

It also looks like they don't use make-up on their faces. The overall dress and appearance is called "prairie-style", but it is not any historically accurate replication because these women are squeaky clean. This is prairie-style meets modern plumbing and hygiene.

The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that Jeffs watched way too many Dynasty episodes in the 80s.

I know this was for humor, but that assumes a lot, and is wrong on at least one count. The assumption is that Jeffs is the one who is dictating exactly how these women style their hair. That might not be true, and instead these women are internally enforcing their own hairstyling as a female-dominated subculture that has only one written rule... you can't cut your hair.

It's wrong because the hairstyles of these women are really not like those on Dynasty. The only commonality is that the eye is drawn to the hair because it is a visual feature that is not easily ignored. Dynasty women accomplished this with intentional cutting, curling and hairspray. FLDS women arrive at this by natural default because they cannot cut their hair. I know you are talking about visually dramatic "big hair" for both groups. But the Dynasty women were using cut hair that was intentionally styled for this purpose, while the FDLS women are forced to deal with uncut hair and its inherent spacial volume.

Good point! Let's face it: no REAL male passes a comely Amish lass clopping along in one of those black buggies and fails to fantasize about pulling over in his red Ferrari, smiling over at the awestruck and oh-so-yearning Amish hottie and motioning wordlessly to the empty seat beside him. Whereupon said 16th century-ish Babe hastily abandons the Studebaker and Clydesdale and hops into the Ferrari, cranks up ZZTop's "She's Got Legs!" while tugging off her Betsy Ross dress and bonnet to reveal a smokin' tight body done up in lacy thong and bra, heels, garter and thigh high hose. The vision becomes more graphic right after the part where she and you, the impassioned duo, drive directly to the nearest East Indian-owned low rent motel. It's visions like this, courtesy of old-timey babe outfits, that make the drive from Lancaster, PA to NYC go by in a flash. Even you lefty dudes know what I'm talking about. I hope. Hey think of it this way: you Lefty weenies don't even have to ASK the Amish or FLDS chicks to let their armpit hair grow for that '60's natural hippy-dippy fetish you've all got...
