We all know that truthers are the masters of cognitive dissonance. They march into battle armed with the incredible ability to believe all sorts of completely contradictory things without so much as flinching.

Silverstein told an FDNY firechief to blow-up WTC7...but the FDNY wasn't at all involved in the conspiracy. The Red Cross was listening in on WTC7s demolition countdown...but let's not accuse them of anything either. Thermite was used to take down the WTC in order to not produce the deafening noise of CD charges....but people heard explosions!

I think the ever-troublesome issue of qualified expert backing produces another such example.

Truthers love to boast that they have plenty of expert support from engineers and CD pros - so much, in fact, that they'll often claim to have just as much, if not more, than the OS.

They've got (try not to laugh) the folks at AE911, Heiwa, Kevin Ryan, Steven Jones, Danny Jowenko (sort of)...

And yet at the exact same time we find truthers constantly making silly excuses as to why they don't have more expert backing.

The experts are paid off!...They're afraid of coming forward because they want to keep government jobs/contracts!...They're afraid for their safety!

WTF??? :eye-poppi
How do those TM's excuses jive with the fact that they claim to have experts who are apparently alive and well?

If so many people can freely speak out about 9/11, and even form organizations about it, then what do truthers think the rest of the world's experts are afraid of? Are they scared of the same terrible consequences that have apparently failed to harm or silence Richard Gage and company?

Doesn't the (semi) support from Danny Jowenko put to rest the notion that NWO pressure on engineers/CD pros extends across the whole world? I mean if Jowenko can back the TM's WTC7 theory then surely that means the rest of Holland's experts are likewise free to speak out in support of the "truth." Yet they don't.

It's almost as if truthers know that their "expert" backing is largely a sham and so they feel the need to makes excuses for not having such support even as they put on a brave face and claim that they do.

It's become apparent to me, that truthers will try anything to perpetuate the fantasy world in their head.

This includes making self contradictory arguments, like the one you describe.

I got a good laff out of the troofer idiot you talked to last September at GZ. He compares the destruction of the twin towers to a 'Mafia hit' which is why all the CD experts are 'afraid' to speak out (about 1:00 in). There's a bit of unconscious comedy a little later when he says troofers have contacted CD companies but no one will 'get back' to them.

Oddly, Ron Weick was able to talk to 20 CD companies by being polite and persistent. I wonder why the troofers weren't as successful?

Remember the truth movement exists on "asking questions". It is far easier than proving something. It is like many religions, they "prove" themselves by attempting to punch holes in the arguments of their opponents.

The Truth movement can only attract new members by pretending that their questions have not been answered. However, thanks to the efforts of us debunkers, their questions HAVE largely been answered. If someone has doubts about some aspect of the events of that day, a quick Google will bring them here or to 911myths.com or Gravy's pages or Screw Loose Change or any of the other debunking sites, and those doubts will be laid to rest (and the perception of Truthers as charlatans will be reinforced).
