My husband is all worked up about alleged FEMA concentration camps which will be used to house uppity citizens when martial law is declared. I've done some cursory research and haven't found anything that appears to be credible - however I also haven't managed to find anything really discussing them from a skeptical point of view either. (I have found some info in the JREF forum but it appears to be a bunch of skeptics discussing it from the assumption that it is a hoax. I agree that it is a hoax, however, my husband is not likely to find such discussions to be very convincing). I think this topic would be great for a Skeptoid episode.

It's is just the latest version of an old, old, conspiracy Hoax.
It goes back to the 1960's,when ironically kooks on both sides of the political spectrum spread rumors about the US Government building concentration camps to house either gun owning, patriotic Americans who would not bow to the Secret Commie Controlled Government, or those Hippie Rebels who were daring to Stand Up To The Man, depending on your point of view. Only the Government Agency concerned changes.

Alex Jones is propagating this idea to his audience.
Google prisonplanet and you can search that term.

Sounds like an old Alex Jones video I still have somewhere in a box called "America: Destroyed by Design" (from the late 90s).
My friend gave it to convince me there were concentration camps in America. It has Alex ranting about them, but no evidence.
Don't bother watching it, it's horrible.
