I think the correct response is "bless you".
LOL! California came in #44, and probably spends more money on K-12 education than some of the others combined, imagine that.
p.s. If It weren't for me, we would have come in at about #50 :p

Nee Haw!
Indiana is number 13.
Not bad for a state that once attempted to legislate the value of pi to a rational number.
Go Hoosiers!

States were graded on a variety of factors based on how they compare to the national average. These included such positive attributes as per-pupil expenditures, public high school graduation rates, average class size, student reading and math proficiency, and pupil-teacher ratios. States received negative points for high drop-out rates and physical violence.
Per-pupil expenditure was a positive factor? Probably the only reason Alaska came in at number 23 is because we waste (spend ineffectively) a huge amount of money on education. Our low graduation rate, and high drop-out and physical violence numbers did not manage to offset the high spending.

We suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of those who call themselves Hoosiers and utter phrases like "Nee Haw!".
How freaking embarrassing is that?
