Yesterday on WHYY radio, Bill Clinton said about Obama's campaign:

I think they played the race card on me.

The context was that Clinton was responding to a question about his comments dismissing Obama's victory in South Carolina as similar to Jesse Jackson's in 1988. Apparently, Obama is directly responsible for what the former president said.

When asked about his comments one day later, Clinton lied about what he said on the record.

No, no, no, that's not what I said.

I can only think of two possible explanations for Clinton's behavior:

1. He recently suffered a massive head injury.
2. He is secretly working for Obama's campaign.

Maybe he should cry?

He ought to take a tip from Jimmy Swaggart and do the tearful "I have betrayed you" line on stage for a national TV audience.

Might do some good.

Maybe he should cry?

Worked Lied for his wife?

Fixed it for you.

No need for tears, unless you really want the Clintons to win. If I did, I'd be frustrated to no end to see this kind of internal sabotage.

Is "he played the race card" the new playing the race card?

Then there is he played the "he played the race card" card?

He played the "he played the 'he played the race card' card" card?

At some point the laws of logic and grammar collapse into a black hole, Ron Paul pulls a sword out of it, and rightfully takes the throne of New Jersey.

Everybody is going to play the race card before this election is over, while trying to look as if they are not doing it.

Obama played the race card when he had the audacity to run while black! Shame on him!

It is unfortunate, but you are probably right.

I am not sure if Americans are proud of their politics and their politicians, but If my politicians resorted to the methods and tactics I see now, I would be ashamed of them.

That is not meant as an insult to Americans, dudalb, before you get your knickers in a knot ;), it is an insult to your politicians.
