I just spotted this on Yahoo. Folks are looking to god for lower fuel prices. Wouldn't it be easier if the almighty one just fixed things so that we can run our cars on holy water???

What do you think oil is? ;) It is liquid, comes out of a hole (in the ground) and from there we get holey water.

My favorite quotes are: “We call on God to intervene in the lives of the selfish, greedy people who are keeping these prices high” and "Woe be unto those people that are really greedy and taking advantage of American families”.
So someone making money off the downtrodden? How dare they? Certainly unlike any religious organization, right? :whistling
Anyway, are they praying for lower prices or vengeance against the evildoers? Probably both.

I followed a link to the same story on another web site a couple of minutes ago and thought it was The Onion again. Adult, eligible to vote men and women standing at a gas station and praying for lower gas prices. It has to be parody on their part, it would be too embarrassing if they were serious about this.

Psh. Whatever happened to "Free Will"?
So it's fine and dandy for God to allow, say, the Holocaust because hey, free will! But the moment a few of The Faithful are mildly inconvenienced by rising gas prices, the divine must intervene!
I'm not sure whether to laugh, rage, or cry.

Prayer: The best rationalization for the lazy people who want to do nothing, but make it appear they're doing something.

That doesn't seem right.
Lower gas prices will benefit the undeserving as well as the righteous.

I just read about that. This is ridiculous. When they already start to pray at this point , what do they do when the prices in the US reach the level we got in Europe, especially in Germany. Currently it's 1.49 Euro the liter! That's 8.75 Dollars the Gallon! And god didn't show much interest in that, so 4 Dollars the liter won't raise a weary smile out of him.
I don't think this level might come so soon (we pay a lot of nasty taxes on gas that US citizens probably don't), but you might want to get prepared, 'cause it's possible ;-)
And the US-price is 0.61 Euro the liter. If overnight the price here would change to that people would rampage at the gas stations. The lines would not end until Wladiwostok.
But apart from that, I haven't prayed yet, although it's tempting. But I won't fall this deep. Not yet :-(

But, then, why do we call it "crude"? Or is that what is left after we remove the holey water?
Jees, why is everything so complicated?
