Following the example of the US govt with the deck of Iraqis, the Russian govt has come out with a deck of Americans.

For any Russian confused about the names and career highlights of the Bush Administration, help went on sale on Thursday. The "United Cards of America", Russia's answer to the US military's "Iraqi most-wanted" playing cards, features a 36-card round-up of key figures in Washington.

From George Bush ("USA President since 2001, convinced that God has a plan for him") to the Federal Reserve chairman, Alan Greenspan ("second-most powerful man in the world"), and Defence Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld ("the face of struggle with terrorism"), the cards are an attempt to teach Russians that what happens on the Volga is increasingly determined by what happens on the Potomac.

Note that unlike a similar deck produced by American leftists, this one doesn't seem to be particularly anti-anything, just informative.

And good art, too.

From the Bush's card: Convinced that God has a plan for him. It's funny because it's true...Also, how come they made Bush's card Jack of Hearts?

I like how for Bush's nicknames they have "Bushie" and "Dubya." No explanation, but it's kinda funny to see that in Cyrillic. :)

That I don't know. I can't seem to find the full deck on the internet, though I'll keep trying.

At least they don't have him with a Hitler moustache, like the American lefty version does. Sheesh.

The Russian version, by way of comparison, is not lauditory but merely straightforward.

I think those must be typical of Russian playing cards. I've seen old decks from central Europe that were similar.
