This is why I joined up over there...so I could receive emails like this.

Bolding below mine. You just can't make this stuff up...

Join Us at the 2008 National AIA Convention
in Boston, MA
Fellow AE911Truth Supporters:

1. We are going to attend and be active at the 2008 National AIA Convention in Boston, MA in force! Join us as we bring the 9/11 Truth to the 25,000 architects that the AIA expects, all collected in one place (of course for the purpose of being woken up to the truth about the destruction of the 3 WTC high-rise "collapses" on 9/11!). You can get your free pass to the concourse here.

2. We will gather May 15, 16, and 17th at the Boston Convention Center and commence to pass out leaflets inside and outside of the concourse. We will also have mini-presentations and Q&A upstairs in the hotel room at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm to invite the architects to. We will also get attention by being filmed on large video cameras on the exhibit concourse with hundreds of architects passing by and wondering, "What's all the fuss?". You will hand them leaflets to quell their curiosity! The leaflets will tell them about AE911Truth, the mini-presentation schedule and the large AE911Truth event at MIT. The event starts Thursday morning and goes until Saturday afternoon.

There was more but I didn't want to waste anymore bandwidth.

I gotta give them credit. It takes serious cojones to go to a place where there are 25,000 experts to try and peddle this crap.

So they don't have enough experts so they're going out to try to convince more to join them? hahahaa this 911 truth BS gets more and more like some radical religion every day.

In other news (not worth a thread of its own), Gage appeared on an Air America show last night (groan). However, the show's website listed my website instead of his as a place to get information on Gage!

:dl:

It's still like that!

And get this -- 20 hits so far at my site! That's a big TWO and a big ZERO right behind it. Boy howdy, people are staying away from this nonsense in droves!

And apparently, they think they can fit a few thousand at a time in a hotel room. No wonder they can't figure out how the towers fell!

Good idea, twoofers!

Nothing will convince the experts to join you quite like a WAC-style Ground Zero protest at an AIA convention. Someone should let Nico know about this.

Unless they're registered as an exhibitor (I looked be can't find them....I'm also not sure what name they may be under) This is not going to happen. You can't just stand around and pimp your wares at this sort of thing. I might stop in and check it out none the less.

That was my thought exactly. It depends on the security at the convention center, but only registered vendors and exhibitors are usually allowed in to make their sales pitches. However, if this is such a big conference, they might be able to sneak in undetected.

I cannot find Gage or his group by searching the exhibit floor to see if he rented a booth, looks like he really is just crashing the place. Oh if I could only be there to see them getting booted out!

I'm certain the architects passing by will be wondering something along the lines of WTF, but I'm not so sure that 'fuss' will be the word they are thinking.

I seriously don't know anyone professionally who buys into this crap, and that's including some of the most ardently anti-Bush Administration folks I've met in my entire life. This might be great in that if it goes poorly enough, Gage's group might actually lose membership as folks who were duped into joining scurry to distance themselves.

They must be registered as an exhibitor or guest speaker or something or they wouldn't have free concourse passes to give, I would imagine. Unless Gage did something like misrepresent that his 'firm' had X number of members who would be attending. But that would be dumb. It would be cheaper and a lot less risky to sign up for a booth.

This is akin to a bunch of holistic medicine boosters going to the annual meeting of the American College of Cardiology (tens of thousands of docs) to scream at them that clopidogrel is a government conspiracy and that they have "irrefutable evidence" that their holistic mixtures of water and (fill in the blank) are the REAL heart therapies, sheeple.

Laughable and pathetic, as is everything that has ever emanated from the Troof cult.

I was going to compare it to the Flat Earth Society showing up at a convention of the National Geographic Society, but your's works just as well.:)

Does anybody know anyone who'll be attending this convention so that we can get an honest appraisal of the hijinks?

I think I have a pretty good vocabulary but I had to look that one up.

But I do give them credit for actually getting off the computer screen and doing something even though it is for a ridiculous cause. Although it could have also been a nice free vacation for a few select members of their group.

I would love to know how the reception went. I suspect a major percentage of the people there did not even know a real "truth " movement existed

If they are really interested in the truth maybe they will hire a few top impartial people there to review their claims.

As of today, the AE911Truth site no longer features the AIA logo. Richard still IDs himself as a member of the AIA. But the logo is gone.

The number of building professionals also dropped one.

I think that's a telling example of just how their weekend at the convention went.

(PS: They've changed the slideshow again. Fifth iteration. Of course, they had to scrub the AIA logo from the few slides that featured it. But they've reshuffled and added more stuff. It's really getting comical.)

ETA: Oh, my God.

The fun really starts on slide 69. Go here:

http://www.ae911truth.net/ppt_web/slideshow.php?i=70&lores=1

Put 69 into the little window advance.

Then advance to 70 and watch the little video.

Then advance to 71.

Now which is it? Does WTC 7 fall at an acceleration of 10 m/s^2 or 9.1? Do you think they know? Do you think they care?

And why are we only dealing with the first 3 seconds, hmm?

:D

There are now a whopping 89 people on that list who have not presented AE911truth with a hardcopy of their credentials or otherwise proven their identities. One of these remains Gregory Urich, so they are not all fakes, obviously.

But 89 out of 383 unverified is well over 25% of their membership.

I'm trying to imagine the reception one would get if they went to a software development convention and handed out pamphlets saying that assembly language is just a myth.

ETA: Or that there's no way to explain how a compiler could possibly work, therefore the government is murdering innocent civilians...

Ahh, that does indeed hint at Gage having had his knuckles rapped by the AIA over his use of its logo on his tinhatter site, and rightly so.

Typically, conspiracy fantasists race to get their pathetic showings and events up on YouTube immediately afterward - even when they are entirely oblivious to the fact that their videos are not at all flattering to them or their nutter-group-du-jour - but Gage and Friends have been oddly silent about their alleged attendance at the AIA Convention on the weekend. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that there will be no "film at 11" this time, for good reason.

Talk about convoluting your claims.
