Well, I for one, think that it's a good idea for politicians to learn how to read, to pay their bills, and to stay in reasonably good shape. Therefore, I would have to say, "no."

I think the question is too vague as written. All human group interaction is governed by politics. You can't remove it, be definition. Maybe there is something more specific you wish to remove from these fields?

I think the gov should stay the hell out of sport.
But I think there really is a need for government regulations in Banking and Education.

The moment you have criminal penalties for fixing a sports outcome, or you have city governments offering incentives to bring teams or stadiums in...you have politics in sports.
The thing is local politicians are the world's best middle-men. As soon as any activity starts involving enough money, they politicians will insert themselves into the process.
