View Full Version : 'Hold on sweetie' ~ I've decided the nomination is mine!

There are two subjects rolled into one here. Obama said the first part to a news reporter lady in Michigan, recently?, I guess. Heard this on the radio this morning. Obama later apologized to her, and said he has a habit of saying that all the time.
Really! What else about this guy? Doesn't such a remark by him reitterate this arrogance we have been hearing about him?
We just do not know Obama well enough, I'm afraid. I really fear we will learn more things about him after it is too late. I have images where people are gnashing their teeth in hell, saying, "I didnt' know!". Fools.
Why are we so much in a haste to nominate this guy, whose message is "change", where nobody else has really changed things much before him. Do you really believe he is going to be able to significantly make these changes, where, with a others before him it has just been lip service?
Do you think he'll bring manufacturing back to the US? Do you think he will make us get out of foreign countries, all over the world, to let them run their own affairs? Do you think he will solve the oil crises? And if it does straighten out?, that it will have anything really to do with HIS decisions? Do you think he will get health care under control so that health/insurance rate increases only go up with the cost of living (3%)? Etc., etc.
Then, to take the cake, this Obama thinks he can almost strong arm his way into the nomination before it has even been decided! He thinks he can start claiming it NOW, so that delegates will feel almost foolish not giving it to him. And by cleverly claiming the nomination now, he knows black people more than ever will go on a rampage if the nomination were "taken from him", not thinking of the fact that it has not been given to him yet!
This guy is brash. That is what I am seeing in him. When he makes those famous moving speeches of his, we do not see that in him. But bit by bit, more and more is coming out about him.
Now you may ask if I think Hillary could do better. Maybe not. I simply feel that Hillary wants to be President for that sake alone. But I feel that Obama has hidden agendas based around the black value system.
I am afraid he harbors the typical black sentiment where he buys into the belief that whites have oppressed the blacks. (Sure am glad that Jews do similarly harbor such feelings regarding me being a German!) And I have a gut feeling that his mission regarding the Presidency is going to be trying to be a Messiah for his people. That is why I think he quickly rose thru the ranks. A likely scenario is a possible Robin Hood approach where he will take from the rich, and perhaps even the middle class (asd they are relatively rich too), to give to the oppressed, to make up for sins of the past. And can you imagine what he might do regarding pardoning those in prison?
And it's so strange how this guy seemingly came out of nowhere. Would this have happened if he wasn't black?
If any of this comes to pass, don't say you have not been warned.
Why can't we wait another 4-8 years to learn more about this guy? Find out what he really is about. And let him pay a little more dues in regard to experience.
...............
I came back to add this: After North Carolina, the talk was that Hillary was toast, since Obamsa blew her out. Ha. Consider what Hillary did to Obama in Pennsylvania, and also she did take Indiana. Now look at the super DUPER blow out in West Virginia, and the future projected wins for her.
I stand by a previous post I made, that if the election process where to start all over again, that what people now know of Obama, he would no longer be the front runner. And THAT is something the super delegates need to look at and consider. If they did NOT have that right to judgement, then there would be no sense in having super delegates. Isn't this the reason for super delegates?... to be sort of a safety net at the end?, so that the right person, who people want in there at the end, gets chosen?

Here's what RCP (http://www.realclearpolitics.com/) has to say:
Popular vote in the Democratic Primary: Obama leads by 1.8%
Popular vote with Florida: Obama leads by .8%
National RCP polling average (of the second week of May): Obama leads by 7.2%
National polling averages and primary popular votes probably aren't the same thing, but they certainly aren't unrelated. Unless you have some facts to back up your assertion, I'm calling BS.

A term of endearment that's offensive to some. He apologized. Next!
We just do not know Obama well enough, I'm afraid. I really fear we will learn more things about him after it is too late. I have images where people are gnashing their teeth in hell, saying, "I didnt' know!". Fools.

Why are we so much in a haste to nominate this guy
Now you're just not paying attention.

Yeah. I don't know why we even elect a president. What can the U.S. President really do? Nothing. Total figurehead.
There's a subject I think you missed in school. It's called "math." There are remedial courses available at your local community college.
This guy is brash. That is what I am seeing in him. When he makes those famous moving speeches of his, we do not see that in him. But bit by bit, more and more is coming out about him.
Brash, you say? Brash? Well, this changes everything!
Now you may ask if I think Hillary could do better. Maybe not. I simply feel that Hillary wants to be President for that sake alone. But I feel that Obama has hidden agendas based around the black value system.
Wait, let me guess. You have links to "darkie in the woodpile" websites, don't you? Hey, who's in charge of editing together pertinent clips from "Birth of a Nation"?
I am afraid he harbors the typical black sentiment where he buys into the belief that whites have oppressed the blacks.
I don't know where blacks could have gotten that idea.
Why, a couple of years ago, I was in Tanzania, and I got to visit the holding cells for soon-to-be-slaves. You just wouldn't believe all the comfortable king-sized beds, the cable television choices, the room service! Only 50 people at a time were allowed into the 12x12 rooms. They had plenty of overhead space with the 7 foot ceilings. And the toilet facilities were swank, naturally. They had thoughtfully raised most of the floor 3.5 feet (thank goodness for all that overhead!), so by gently and continuously accommodating the 50 or so people into that area, they could let the sea wash the cell sparkling clean!
I sure am glad I went there. Now I know just how easy those "slaves" had it. Oppression? WTF?
(Sure am glad that Jews do similarly harbor such feelings regarding me being a German!) And I have a gut feeling that his mission regarding the Presidency is going to be trying to be a Messiah for his people. That is why I think he quickly rose thru the ranks. A likely scenario is a possible Robin Hood approach where he will take from the rich, and perhaps even the middle class (asd they are relatively rich too), to give to the oppressed, to make up for sins of the past. And can you imagine what he might do regarding pardoning those in prison?
Since my personal philosophy is "soak the rich for as much as you can get out of them," I concur with that part. They certainly return the favor. Of course, you're making up Obama's schemes against the middle class wholesale. Such wild fantasies about "black man's revenge" you harbor. Are you sure your Jewish friends aren't just nodding quietly, hoping you'll go away?
And it's so strange how this guy seemingly came out of nowhere. Would this have happened if he wasn't black?
You DO have links to "darkie in the woodpile" websites! Would you mind cross-referencing them against the list that the Southern Poverty Law Center maintains and forwarding them any of the ones they haven't found yet?
BTW, it didn't happen because he's black. It happened because of the content of his character.
If any of this comes to pass, don't say you have not been warned.
10-4. When none of this comes to pass, you'll never say another unwarranted bad word about the man, right?
Why can't we wait another 4-8 years to learn more about this guy? Find out what he really is about. And let him pay a little more dues in regard to experience.
Something tells me that won't be enough time for you. He's written two books, he's got an big website, and he's going around the country in the longest, most televised primary process in history. The man is in front of a camera most hours of the day, every day of the week.
GET TO KNOW HIM.
I came back to add this:
Oh, rapture.
After North Carolina, the talk was that Hillary was toast, since Obamsa blew her out.
You continue to stand by your sojourn into Subjective Land. Great.
Obama is doing just fine in the polls. The Quinnepac just released says that both Obama and Hillary would defeat McCain handily (and that's KNOWING WHAT WE KNOW NOW). And neither would prevail in the demographic Senator Clinton says is all-important by exactly the same margin.
Maybe we'll be aight. Thanks for your concern, though. When we need more of it, we'll traipse across the bridge and ask you for it, OK?

My ex boss used to call everyone "Dorothy". Oh yes, he was very arrogant. But also the best boss I ever had. Anyway... no, I don't feel especially troubled by the "sweethy" remark. As for the rest of the OP, it's part argument from ignorance (we don't know this guy, ergo there's probably something sinister about him) and part just plain dumb racism. Oh, I forgot, there are no racists among Clinton supporters. Sorry, my mistake.

Then, to take the cake, this Obama thinks he can almost strong arm his way into the nomination before it has even been decided! Damn uppity of him to win all those states using strong arm tactics ... aka winning the vote.
He thinks he can start claiming it NOW, so that delegates will feel almost foolish not giving it to him. One small problem with your bizarre rant: he hasn't claimed the nomination. You are incredibly confused.
But I feel that Obama has hidden agendas based around the black value system. Yikes! They'll take our white women and smoke reefers. Scary.
I am afraid he harbors the typical black sentiment where he buys into the belief that whites have oppressed the blacks. This gem can just stand on its own.
And can you imagine what he might do regarding pardoning those in prison? Let them all out and relocate them to your neighborhood no doubt.

What the hell is the "black value system?"
Where blacks wish they were valued like white people and not oppressed for years as slaves,..then later when they were free ... having to sit in the back of buses, not able to vote, not let in restaurants, given menial jobs if given a job at all, considered having lesser I.Q.'s, etc.
"The black value system" was perhaps not quite the right expression, but I intended it to mean that what I just said, and couple that with leaders who sprung up who had agendas and visions to gain parody.

Have you weighed out what they are going to do for Michigan and Florida, and how Hillary says then there will be 2203 delegates? Have you weighed out the fact that in the latter stages of all the primaries, where the front runner should be closing out the deal and everyone should be jumping on his bandwagon...that they are NOT?

Yes, yes I am sure it is PURE co-incidence that the period you think we should wait to "learn more about this guy" is exactly the maximum period that your chosen candidate would be able to serve as president. Pure con-incidence, no element of self interest at all.
Just because I am for her instead, at this point in time I simply want this thing to play out, the way it is supposed to.
No you don't, because that is EXACTLY what is happening that you are objecting to. You state that he is claiming the nomination without any evidence whatsoever. In fact what he is doing is winning delegates, including superdelegates, to put him in a position where he has the majoirty of the electorate - but he is not there yet. I.e he is playing it out exactly like you claim to want him to.
And if you are so concerned about this being allowed to "play out" then I am sure you can provide a link to the threads you started condemning the Clinton campaign for suggesting Obama should drop out and accept a VP slot on her ticket at a time when he was leading in the delegate race? Of course we both know that there are no such threads because your position is nothing to do with a desire for this thing to play out, it is all to do with a desire for Hillary to win.

Hillary lost the pledged delegate race in the two weeks after Super Tuesday when she went from being tied in pledged delegates to being 150ish behind (figures based on CNN politics overview graphic). Not counting Edwards delegates who have now announced they will support Obama, she is still about 150ish behind in pledged delegates.
Many commentators put how badly she did in that period down to her campaign having assumed it would be over on Super Tuesday and having no strategy in place to contest the 11 contests that took place in the following two weeks. Ultimately that period looks like costing her any chance of winning the pledged delegates.
The fact her campaign made such a huge blunder surely does not help her argument that she will be a more effective Presidential candidate?

Uh, Raw Story is MSM? LOL So this comes from some guy writing a book that hasn't been published yet? Your standards are quite low. So much for Skeptics.
I look forward to you posting the link when the libel suit is filed against the author.
He didn't get the nick name "McNasty" for nothing.

Yes, yes I am sure it is PURE co-incidence that the period you think we should wait to "learn more about this guy" is exactly the maximum period that your chosen candidate would be able to serve as president. Pure con-incidence, no element of self interest at all.
What a rampage you went into, for nothing.
Can't you comprehend it has NOT all been played out yet? Contrary to how Obama is DOING. The game is not over yet. Just because I am for Hillary (I admit that) has nothing to do with my assertion I'd like to see this whole affair played out to the very end, like a ball game. And when it is decided...it is decided. NOT before, with some candidate shoeing himself in, ahead of time.

Obama has been saying all along that Clinton should stay in as long as she wants.

And when it is decided...it is decided. NOT before, with some candidate shoeing himself in, ahead of time. "Shoeing himself in"? And earlier you wrote that that he was "strong arming" the nomination.
Can you provide one specific example?
