It was only a matter of time before the leftists became anti-semites.

As we all know, it bothers the hell out of leftists that there is an unequal distribution of wealth among people. Not only that, it also bothers the hell out of leftists that there is an unequal distribution of wealth among people of different races and ethnicities.

So from there, this makes the leftists despise people who are more well off monetarily than other people.

Incidentally, Jews are often very good at making money and due to this, they are often well-to-do in a monetary way. So it was only a matter of time before the leftists noticed this and started liking Jews less than they like people of other ethnicities just as they like white people less than they like blacks and Latinos.

There you have it folks, leftism leads to anti-semitism.

But I imagine that more and more Jews will become conservatives with the leftist anti-Israel thing going on.

My younger brother has a Jewish friend whose father switched from being a democrat to a republican because too many democrats were anti-Israel.

I had a friend in high school and middle school who was ultra-conservative and was Jewish.

Unbelievable (you having friends, that is).

Too many anti-Israel Democrats? If only it were so.

It's not as though the Christian conservatives blindly supporting Israel do so because they love Jews. They support Israel to speed up Jesus' prophesized return (whereupon all the Jews will be killed, or something).

Still, go ahead and compare the percent of the Jewish population that registers and votes Democratic versus Republican. Compare the number of elected Jewish Democrats to the number of Jewish Republicans (Specter, Bloomberg and the other guy are "liberal Republicans," in so far as the term makes any sense).

Well JAR, glad to see you posting again!

ROTFLMAO!

Just a few points,

a. there is a very long history of conservatism and anti jewish sentiment. I suggest you look up the 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion" and the 'Dreyfus Affairs' for starters, it is the conservatives who use the fear of the outsider (xenophobia) as a political motivator.

b. The proportion of jewish individuals who make huge sums of money is not rising, this is a cultural stereo type left over from the middle ages, please look uo 'usery laws' and you will see where the bias has it's origin.

c. Did you know that most of the cultures in the middle east are semitic? That the arabs for sure and many other groups there speak languages that are semitic, so unfortunately most of the antisemitisim in the world comes from the conservatives who want to destroy the evil islamic types.

So while you can make up whatever you want, you will find two things if you do your research:

a. most antisemitism is associated with conservative political movements

b. when liberals are painted 'anti semitic' it is because they don't goose step thier knees when the name of the state of israel is mentioned.

Your statements make about as much as me blaming your uninformed viewpoints on the california educational system. There are young people who have different views, but there is nothing to say that all young people in california are stupid, some of them are quite smart.

FIRST VILLAGER: We have found a witch. May we burn her?

ALL VILLAGERS: Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her!

BEDEVERE: How do you know she is a witch?

FIRST VILLAGER: She looks like one!

ALL VILLAGERS: Yeah! Yeah! Burn her! Yeah!

BEDEVERE: Bring her forward.

[They bring her forward - a beautiful YOUNG GIRL (MISS ISLINGTON) dressed up as a witch.]

WITCH: I'm not a witch. I'm not a witch.

BEDEVERE: Uh, but you are dressed as one.

WITCH: They dressed me up like this.

ALL VILLAGERS: We didn't, we didn't!

WITCH: And this isn't my nose, it's a false one.

[BEDEVERE takes her nose off.]

BEDEVERE: Well?

FIRST VILLAGER: ... Well, we did do the nose.

BEDEVERE: The nose?

FIRST VILLAGER: And the hat. But she is a witch.

ALL VILLAGERS: Yeah! We burn her! Yeah! Burn her!

BEDEVERE: Did you dress her up like this?

FIRST VILLAGER: No! No! No! No! No!... Yes .. Yes ... A bit. A bit. She has got a wart!

BEDEVERE: What makes you think she is a witch?

SECOND VILLAGER: Well, she turned me into a newt!

BEDEVERE: [after a pause] A newt?

[Others stare and look at SECOND VILLAGER, who is plainly a human, not a newt.]

SECOND VILLAGER: [Notices the stares. After a pause:] I got better.

ALL VILLAGERS: Burn her anyway! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her!

BEDEVERE: Quiet! Quiet! There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.

[ARTHUR and PATSY ride up at this point and watch what follows with interest]

ALL VILLAGERS: Are there? There are? What are they? Tell us! Do they hurt?

BEDEVERE: Tell me ... What do you do with witches?

ALL VILLAGERS: Burn them! Burn them! Burn them up!

BEDEVERE: And what do you burn apart from witches?

FIRST VILLAGER: More witches!

SECOND VILLAGER: Sh!

THIRD VILLAGER: Wood!

BEDEVERE: So why do witches burn?

FOURTH VILLAGER: [pianissimo] ... Because they're made of wood...?

BEDEVERE: Good.

[PEASANTS stir uneasily then come round to this conclusion.]

ALL VILLAGERS: Oh! Oh yeah!

BEDEVERE: So. How do we tell whether she is made of wood?

FIRST VILLAGER: Build a bridge out of her!

BEDEVERE: Ah ... but can you not also make bridges out of stone?

ALL VILLAGERS: Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Uhh...

BEDEVERE: Uh, does wood sink in water?

ALL VILLAGERS: No! No! No! It floats! It floats! Throw her into the pond! The pond!

BEDEVERE: What also floats in water?

ALL VILLAGERS: ... Bread! ...Apples! ... Uh, very small rocks! Cider! Gra- Gravy! Cherries! Mud! Churches! Churches! Lead! Lead!

ARTHUR: A duck!

[They all turn and look at ARTHUR. BEDEVERE looks up very impressed.]

BEDEVERE: Exactly. So... logically ...

FIRST VILLAGER: [beginning to pick up the thread] If... she ... weighs.. the same.. as a duck ... she's made of wood.

BEDEVERE: And therefore?

ALL VILLAGERS: A witch! A witch! A witch!

Leaving the skeptics that jumped on your neck aside you are totally wrong in this one.

First of all being against the policy of Israel in Middle East doesn't make you an antisemite.

For example, I am an Israeli citizen and I vote in the elections, I am totally against the policy of Sharon's government in the area.

Antisemites are those who hate the jewish people and they refuse to aknowledge the existence of antisemitism in our days.Like Cain for example, read his posts and you will understand what I mean.

Of course you might have confused the left with antisemitism because the left refuses to aknowledge that Palestinians are to blame for many things in this conflict too.

There are people in this forum who claim that they follow the conflict from a close distance and they ignore for example that Amnesty International reports violations of the human rights from the part of the Palestinian Authority.

Of course this has an explanation. To most people especially in Europe the criticism towards Israel is confused with anti-americanism that's why the majority of those who criticize Israel have a striking ignorance about the country, its History and about the real problems that it causes to the area.

So, JAR you must really disconect antisemitism from the Left.

Also, if you read a bit the History of Jewry you would discover that Jews have always been politically connected to the left.

In Greece for example the Communist party was established by a Jew ,Abraham Benaroya who was the first elected communist MP in the Greek Parliament.

I see where your logic is going JAR, but I beg to differ.

Anti-semitism is an irrational hatred or bias. Usually it's right wing fanatics who are anti-semites....but nowadays we also see left wing fanatics doing the same.

Personally I think the political spectrum is like a loop where it's possible for there to be very little difference between a left wing nut, and a right wing nut. At the extreme fringes on both sides, these people act and talk more like each other than like the rest of us.

I'm absolutely sure that the leftists will notice the Jew's monetary success and turn on them.

Marlon Brando complained about there being too many Jews in Hollywood and he was involved in Civil Rights Movements and some Native American Indian movement or maybe it was more than one movement. Jesse Jackson once referred to New York as "h#my town" and my older brother had a anti-semitic co-worker from Mexico at the Black Angus Restaurant he used to work at.

*Aha ha ha haaaa... snuffle blort wheeze*

Ahem. Modern Governmental intereference levels are a result of macro-economic trends, not of a particular countries tradition. It's only an American tradition in so much as the worst of Americans assume a "manifest destiny" in everything America does, rather than actually getting a history book, and realising that most countries didn't even begin to evolve the 'nation-state' itself until the 1100's, and in it's modern secular form from around the 1600's (as late as the 1850's for Germany... Japan was basically a feudal society until the 1900's). Industrial Revolution, anyone? American tradition of less government indeed! "Relativism" isn't a dirty word, you know, not even with "Historical" in front of it.

The same applies for anti-semitism as well. It wasn't so long ago that world Jewry was itself supposed to be the International Left. Aha ha haaa....

This is unquestionably true. But my point is we need to get away from that. And that really is an early American tradition. There is no political party in the USA that follows it, though the Republican Party tends to talk that way before elections, sometimes.
