Damn slow month for May, so here be the top 10 Stundies. Vote Wisely and responsibly.
1 - Dictator Cheney and how to become an expert in ANY field
even chemists can be "experts" in tall building collapses aslong they folow the "official theory"
2 - Redibis putting the cart before the burning horse
Do you understand the difference between smoke and flames?
3 - deep44, just because pride goeth before the fall
Smart people also know how to spell "judgment".
4 - chek. I need not say more
The fluid formed by fine solids and heated gas occurs rarely - on the surface of the Earth, only volcanoes and totally destroyed World Trade Centres are known to cause it.
5 - jimd3100 thinks this is odd...
it is suspcious that government workers would be at the pentagon
6 - Killtown Time. Plane, shovel... same thing
Through experimentation, I found out that no matter how hard or how fast I thrust my steel shovel into the soft dirt of my garden, not once was the shovel broken or disintegrated. Even when my pitcher nephew threw the shovel into the soft dirt from a raised platform at approximately 98.3 mph, the steel shovel still was never damaged.
7 - theauthor pens up a beauty
Judy Wood was never in a coma. Somebody on a another board did all manner of news searches and came up with nothing. A story like that would at least make local news. I don't beleive for a second she was in a coma. She was off on a nother CIA mission, and no i'm not joking.
8 - tthuhta on a theory to muffle the explosion sounds.
Can you wrap the explosives with mattresses to muffle the noise? I've been living near a place where rock was blown to crumbles. You clouldn't hear much anything in the air, you just felt your house shake
9 - Zaphod36 and what happened to Flight 93
Flight 93(?) probably was hit by a thermobaric weapon while airborne, low over the ground near Shanksville.
10 - Sanders points out that Floor 30 was the keystone
Seriously, how can it not be said that the 30th floor did not support the total weight of floors 31 through 110 all those years? Just as floor 29 held up the weight of floors 30 through 110, etc. etc.

Number 4 was tempting. I get a good chuckle everytime someone brings up "pyroclastic flow".
Then I read Killtown's "shovel test"...and have to wonder if he measured the speed of 98.3 mph with a radar gun....or a rectal thermometer....
But number 7...seriously believing that Judy Wood is a CIA operative...now that's pure comedy gold! :D
Edit: Psssst! There's no linkies to the posts.....;)

Being the sort of science nerd that I am, I went for #10 (Sanders' misunderstanding of how loads are distributed on a building.) To me, this demonstrates fact that the Truth Movement is not ignorant but unwilling to learn.
I may have to eat these words if Sanders does an about-face once he's presented with some facts about engineering.

I initially nominated it because I was unaware of the US spelling. It was subsequently decided that since the rest of the english speaking world spell it "judgement" that Deep44 was effectively saying that anyone not from the US is stupid.

I'm surprised it made the finals, but I voted for it anyway.
The person I was replying to is from the US -- the word was clearly misspelled.
Plus, if you spell "judgment" as "judgement" (and claim that you're justified in doing so), then you should also be using the non-US spelling for other words, such as: colour, flavour, honour, defence, offence, organise, realise, likeable, liveable, sizeable, (...).
Unless some other non-US spellings are being used consistently, judgment does not have an extra 'e'. Those who are justified in spelling it with an extra 'e' are not "stupid" - my point was, if you're going to tell everyone how smart people are supposed to conduct themselves, make sure you run the message through a spell-checker before you click 'submit'.

It had to be killtown... every step of his experiment is absurd beyond belief. It's not just comparing a steel shovel with an aluminium airliner, not just comparing thrusting an object into the ground compared with an airliner slamming into the ground under power, indeed not even his retelling of his profoundly gifted pitcher nephew and their speed radar is the ultimate, for me the real selling point is in the opening sentence:
"no matter how hard or how fast"
As if he had exhausted the variables possible in his experiment when in truth he had not even delved remotely close to reality.

So you only accept posts written in American English? Gee, I'd hate to see your reaction if someone was to tell you about a theatre in the centre of a city made of aluminium with a colourful cafe with a sizeable and well-organised menu and likeable staff.
Then again in Australian the words "practice" and "practise" have different meanings, and the sentence "Labor is the party for labourers" is correct.

98.3 was probably the fastest his nephew has ever thrown a baseball, so killtown decided to use that figure while assuming he can throw a shevel at the same speed he throws a baseball
it really goes to show how a seemingly simple equivocation fallacy can lead to grossly skewed results

While many of the others are so very very good it is just not possible to ignore the fact that No.5 sums up the severly warped reality in which the TM members often operate with.
I note he similarity between finding it suspicious that gov't workers would be in a gov't building and the redIbis quote in my sig where he found it preposterous that NIST would say that removing insulation from steel would accellerate the rise in steel in a fire.

OK, perhaps Killtown has missed the obvious way to test out the 98.3mph impact to a steel shovel. Take one pick up truck, put Kt in the back of it with a steel shovel. Have his nephew drive and take the truck up to speed (on this point I would reccommend going to 100 mph just to round things up a bit) Now Kt releases the shovel tossing it perpendicular to the direction of travel of the truck, far enough to have it land in a feild. The added perpendicular velocity would not amount to much in comparison to the velocity in the direction of the truck's travel. Now go back and check on the condition of the shovel. My bet, its bent, the handle maybe snapped. Now consider that the kinetic energy of that shovel would be 1/16th of the same shovel travelling at 400 mph.
But then Kt has never been good at physics or math.

well you see, Kt and, apparently, his nephew are intelectually challenged. A shovel has a handle and is used as a hand tool so the only way to accellerate it to speed is to use one's hands. It never crossed their minds to use an automobile to take the shovel up to speed.
That in itself speaks volumes to Kt's ability to reason.

I'm not sure how you get "government agents" out of the previous post:
But Jon, Griffin is explaining that there were no real eyewitnesses -- they all either worked for the government or saw something very different from a Boeing -- and that none of the DNA evidence can be linked back to the scene and the victims.
Interesting how all the government workers on patriotsquestion911 are never questioned, but because the government workers who saw AA77 aren't reporting what the no-Boeing theorists want they now "don't count."
I think you're reading more into this than what was said. There is no suggestion that they are "Agents". It seems to me that he's just assuming that anyone who works for the government is automatically untrustworthy. Still evidence of their fundamental paranoia, and thus Stundieworthy.
Ah, I feel like it's the good old days with Billy Rea again!*
;)
*Not that I'm saying you're like Billy. It's just been a while since I've debated a Stundie nom!

I don't get government agents but I can see how someone with a bad case of CT on the brain might read it as such. Saying 'government workers at the pentagon' is like saying 'shop workers at a shop' or 'bank workers at a bank'. It seems too stupid - unless it's just a lack of reading comprehension. Both of which truthers are well known for, but not really Stundie material.

Throwing a shovel into dirt... uh, yeah, that is a really reasonable approximation of (I presume) an aircraft smacking the ground at 400-500 mph. Ok.
The best part is that the main body of his experiment was not to throw a shovel into dirt, but to simply thrust it into the dirt. The whole throwing thing was simply meant as a "deal sealer" piece of excessive experimentation that grossly exceeded the parameters of the real world situation and proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that an airliner crashing into the ground at 500 MPH will be totally unharmed.

So your whole argument boils down to, "this is too stupid, even for a twoofer"*? Good luck with that!

Uh...gee, what an honor. Do I get a trophy or something? If so, I'm not sure it would be fair to accept your award, since you are not bright enough to give a closer look at what I was talking about.
I believe this was back when CIT was on Air America discussing their retarded Flyover BS. The comment about government workers being at the pentagon is sarcasm. I wasn't posting it for the sherlocks in here. I posted it on 9/11 blogger where it would be known it was sarcasm since I had already banned CIT from the forum I moderate on.
In summation.....I was making fun of the preposterous claims that the many witnesses who saw what happened at the pentagon(a big plane flew into it)were actually Gov agents. They were not, and non gov witnesses also saw what happened.
If you saw the actual quote you'd see I linked to a video of a civilian who also watched the plane fly into the pentagon, and I was saying how sneaky they were, to pose as civilians...again sarcasm,... because I was posting on another forum where they knew where I stood on the issue.
However--I will be looking forward to my award, and will use it as proof of your horrible research abilities.
Get your facts straight.

Welcome to the forum. As you can see I have been trying to argue in this thread that you couldnt possibly have meant that.

Well, you haven't won yet.
As for "horrible research skills", perhaps you should take a moment to read the entire thread, where you'll see someone who did link to the original post.
As for it being sarcasm, well, it's been noted before that some twoofer beliefs are indistinguishable from parody. Perhaps this should make people think twice about what they believe.

Well, now, let's be honest. You started out claiming we had misrepresented his post:
Jimd3100 sounds like it has been quoted out of context.
I would like to see the rest of that sentence.
It was only after your, what was that term, oh yeah, "horrible research skills" (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=3758394#post3758394) were demonstrated that you decided he couldn't have been stupid enough to actually mean it*. And even then, you were mostly using it as a cheap attempt (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=3759189#post3759189) at another dig at the people here. (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?postid=3759603#post3759603) So don't go acting like you're better than us here.
*And I'll point out, we only have his word that he isn't that stupid. Really, why should we trust him?

Actually this should make people think twice about the BS you push. You also posted that why believe me....maybe I really am dumb enough to think gov workers at the pentagon are odd....LOL....and here I am..I just hardly cant wait now...about to get an award that was earned due to my beliefs at the pentagon....when as I said before 5 minutes of research would make it clear that I believe a plane flew into it, and the witnesses who were there told us what happened.

I wanted to make sure this was brought to everyone's attention. The quote regarding the shovel was not made by Killtown, but by SPreston at LCF in a post responding to one made by Killtown.
Link to original post (http://s1.zetaboards.com/LooseChangeForums/single/?p=72782&t=278097)
The post even includes photos of an undamaged shovel.....hotlinked from a site that sells shovels.
(Just want to make sure credit is given where it is due :))

Well as the person who originally posted that, you have my apologies. But I do have to add, that I have researched the truthers as much as anyone else on the planet (a dubious honor I admit) and even I cannot tell your parody apart from your fact. I have had to virtually give up trying to parody you guys on the blog, because it is far to confusing to the readers. That is what happens when you take positions which are completely disconnected from reality.

Apology accepted. And I will admit crazy things are said in the name of "911 truth". Which I myself even make light of.
Some things on "your side" are pretty stupid too. Like this award that I can't wait to receive, which now destroys the merrits behind it.
Now you all can carry on with more "sane" issues, like "we are attacked because we are so free", and other things more connected to "reality".

I am not sure how you can compare ignoring hundreds of witnesses, dozens of dead victims, not to mention a missing plane, with not being able to detect sarcasm in an internet post.
If you believe that AA77 hit the Pentagon, then that puts you at odds with most of the people that your movement holds up as "experts" and indicates that their research is shoddy and logic is non-existent on an issue which is in reality pretty clear cut. Doesn't this raise some red flags for you?

Two reasons:
1) jimd3100 has been disqualified.
2) Killtown is actually SPreston.
We'll have to start the elections all over again.
Additionally, punishments shall be leveled upon the person who nominated jimd3100. 35% pay cut and 20% rations reduction for one week.
In the future, people, please get this junk together while its still in the Nominations phase!
