I knew Africa has a ********** up tribal culture, but hunting albinos for body parts to get magical powers out of it? :(

I recently saw some tribes people also use body parts of very young children to make potions and stuff. Ugh.

Not just tribes. This actually happens in the Johanesburg metro area as well.
Here's one including a bishop. (not in Jhb though but easy to google)

There is also a popular belief that sex with a virgin cures AIDS. The younger the better.

Very scary superstitions

There were also news stories within the last year that in South Africa, it was felt that having sex with virgins would cure AIDS. This resulted in an increasing number of rapes of very young children, even babies.

Maybe they just hate Whitey, and the reporter didn't quite get the story straight.

Then again, there's the aphrodasiac rhino horn deal . . .

That second article is odd. It seems to be claiming that infant rape only occurs in South Africa. Am I misreading?

No, for their albino horns . . . don't ask. You are familiar with white rhinos, right?

You are familiar with white rhinos, right?Sure - my dad used to take us on hunting trips to Africa when we were kids. I shot a couple myself. Have the head of one of them in my study. Mrs. BPSCG doesn't like to look at it.

I hear they're practically extinct now. Good thing I got mine while I had a chance.

I strongly suspect that the closest you've ever been to a rhino is at the zoo.

But if I see a rhino on a plane with a gun, I'll kill it and send you the head.

Swaggert gets the first shot if its a gay rhino on a plane.

I understood it was far more widespread than that, but it is relatively common in SA, the only country I have first hand experience of.

Not a pleasant topic to research.

Of course, everybody knows Africa is a uniform entity, where everybody still live almost naked in a jungle/desert, under the rule of tinpots dictators and cruel sorcerers, despite the best efforts of the West to bring them some enlightment.

Cool. I need to go visit. Never met a real live cruel sorcerer. What sort of anti-magic artifacts do I need to carry: cold iron?

Or just a big iron on my hip? ;)

(The last line is a reference to a Marty Robbins song.)
http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/robbins-marty/big-iron-11880.html

A verse to clear up the allusion.

There was forty feet between them
When they stopped to make their play
And the swiftness of the Ranger
Is still talked about today
Texas Red had not cleared leather
'Fore a bullet fairly ripped
And the Ranger's aim was deadly
With the big iron on his hip
Big iron on his hip

Well, at least they aren't being killed so their testicles can be used as truck bumper ornaments.

Um, isn't that an armadillo? Where's the rhino head?

Um, isn't that an armadillo? Where's the rhino head?Right in front of you! Don't you see its razor-sharp tusks? Its raptor-like claws? The leathery wings?
