The Larry King Live site at CNN is currently requesting suggestions as to whom you'd most like to see on the show. Go to this CNN link, see below left of page for "Viewers Choice" and tell them James Randi! http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live/. The more the merrier.

I'd rather see Randi Rhodes........(although I hate her voice)
But that is just my opinion.
This sub'forum needed a 'new' post.......

Well, there don't seem to be any other replies to my suggestion, unless they are there and I don't see how to access them.

Nope, None.......
So it's "Randi Rhodes".
Soon to be seen on the Larry (I'm a lounge lizzard in CA) King show. Oh, and I need a 16th wife, maybe.
Whew...

I read your post and suggested him as a guest. Here is the letter I sent:
To Whom It May Concern:
I have noticed that you have an open call for viewers to suggest guests they would want to see most on Larry King Live. Since Larry King has given creedence to such guests as Sylvia Browne, John Edward, and James Van Praagh, as well as an assortment of UFO believers and paranormal enthusiasts, I think it would only be fitting to ask James Randi to be on the program. In an interview with skeptic Michael Shermer, Mr. King stated he was a skeptic. Why not more often include skeptics on the program? Mr. Randi has spent decades exposing charlatans and frauds for what they are. He is a true skeptic and his legacy of being a critical thinker should be given air time as well. Is it not appropriate or newsworthy to include an interview with a skeptic? Why not? Do the producers of the show think people are incapable of thinking for themselves?
I implore you, as a skeptic and a critical thinker, to allow Mr. Randi an interview on Larry King Live. I assure you that he is newsworthy and that the viewers are capable of thinking for themselves. He can lend a hand to identifying pseudoscience and harmful practices to the viewers, which is dire in this time of 'alternative' products for health and technology. Thank you for your consideration and time.
Sincerely,
Mariah

I think that's great. I wish more people had done or will do the same.

Randi has been on Larry King before. I know he was on during the Sylvia Browne/Shawn Hornbeck debacle in Jan. 2007.

I have seen him on there before. I was really trying to point out that Larry King has many guests that believe in the paranormal, and I am not so sure it is equally contrasted with people like Randi. I think maybe I didn't make myself clear in the email. :(

Part of the problem IIRC with having Randi on is it's nearly impossible for him to be an in studio guest so he has to appear via satellite which automatically puts him at a disadvantage. With King doing the show from Los Angeles, I would think it would be easier for Shermer to appear in studio.

Good point. Are their other skeptics around the LA area that could do the show? Or should we ask people who would be able to travel easier? I love to watch Mr. Randi, but if he cannot travel easily, then perhaps we should suggest Shermer or another skeptic.

After watching the Larry King show from last night, that would be a good idea. Especially with the subject of Psychic Kids becoming popular now. Shermer it is, or Nye.

And UFO Hunters tonight. A&E Networks must be on a publicity push.

...Mr. King stated he was a skeptic...Perhaps you just meant to flatter him, but Mr. King is a skeptic the way my barber is a skeptic about us going to the moon, and my neighbor is skeptical that "scientists don't have all the answers", so she goes to fortune tellers.

Actually, I was partially using it as flattery and partially as ammunition. I was referencing an interview he did with Mr. Shermer. He was quoted as calling himself a skeptic. If that is true, then he should be practicing what he preaches.

I suggest that we request that Randi replace Larry King.
