He's talking about a road, the possibility of which I don't think has ever been denied.

What has been denied are:
1. That completion of the road is a foregone conclusion, regardless of politics
2. That it is necessarily a bad thing
3. That US will lose its sovereignty because of the road
4. That this has all been nefariously planned out by Rockefellers/j00z/Illuminati/Freemasons/NWO, rather than being a legitimate political proposal.

Psssst... there is already an easy to travel highway ststem between the US, Canada, and Mexico.

Hell, just look at the license plates in Florida and Arizona every winter, you'd swear half the population of Canada winters in those states.

The NAFTA superhighway thing is a complete red herring, borne of far-right Texan talk-radio up in arms over the idea of a (shudder) foreign company building a major north-south highway through the state... Add in some easier regulations for Mexican truckers and its Reconqista all over again.

What's saddest is that this hyperbole - originating from the height of xenophobic paranoia - has found a home among many who consider themselves the furthest thing from xenophobes...

Another piece of info I point out to my fellow NWO-is-here type Canukistanis is that close to three quarters of Canada's trade (import and export) is with America. CN Railways started reorienting their rail links north-south instead of east-west a long time ago - but to the best of my knowledge, this was never jumped on as a sign of impending American takeover by anybody. After all - isn't it natural to orient your trade routes along the paths on which most of that trade occurs?

I wonder how many conspiracy theories were started in Britain after the Chunnel was announced...;)

There are already several highways that reach from our Northern border to the Southern. I don't see the point to one giant super highway. Of course, other than a colossal waste of time and resources, I don't see it as evil either.

Only Interstates 5 and 15 connect Mexico to Canada for the moment although Interstates 25 and 35 come close. Interstate 69 is planned to connect Detroit with southern Texas and it is called the NAFTA Interstate. It will connect several large cities along its route so I don't think it will be a waste but will enable greater commerce.

How this will enable our enslavement is beyond me.

I only have a problem with it if it is a privately-owned toll road, in which case, they should have no right to condemn property to build it. If it just another give-away to the foreign developers that have been scamming states into selling their highway systems, it should be stopped right now. The problem of unsafe Mexican trucks could be handled nicely by the imposition of regulations to bring them up to our safety standards, and the wages paid to the drivers up to our minimum wage. Sure would blow away any profit in allowing them in here to compete with American drivers, wouldn't it?

George W. Bush has been a fine promoter of American immigration to Canada - if i remember correctly, the numbers spiked especially after his re-election, mostly liberals and I guess the odd medical marijuana patient trying to claim refugee status..;)
